I've had the privilege of traveling the globe, seeking out the finest burger joints in every corner of the world. However, when I took my first bite at this gem in Puerto Vallarta, I was left utterly speechless. This isn't just good; it's transcendent. In fact, I found myself comparing it to a legendary Texas BBQ burger I devoured in Austin this summer, and dare I say, it might just be on another level of taste entirely.
Nestled conveniently next to the only trolly car to whisk you up the steep hill (which you'll definitely need after this feast), this place is a culinary haven. And let's not forget the excellent service provided by our server, Angel, who felt more like a friend by the end of the meal. He even suggested another burger joint, not realizing I'd already been there, a testament to his genuine desire to make sure we had the best experience.
But the food itself, oh my! It's a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced, and every bite left me falling deeper in love with Swedes cuisine. The homemade ice cream for dessert was the perfect encore to this culinary masterpiece.
I'm not one to write reviews often, but this place deserves all the praise. It's not just about the food; it's the friendly ambiance, the captivating decor that transports you through time, and the music that evokes the best memories of your life. If you're in search of a unique off-the-strip dining experience, look no further; you've found your home away from home. This is where I'll be taking all my friends when they visit, and I'll definitely be returning myself – a testament to how exceptional this place truly is. It's a solid...
Read moreTerrible food, pretentious and rude waiters. If you're in Puerto Vallarta long enough, you're unfortunately going to be dragged into this establishment. I've been here twice before this, the food has always been disappointing.
How could you give us such attitude for bringing you more customers when you've already run out of food on Thanksgiving with a ridiculously priced and poorly planned set menu?
I've always thought this place was over rated. On regular nights, the pan fried salmon is mediocre at best.
Tonight, our group went to The Swedes for Thanksgiving dinner. By 8:30pm, they're out of one of their 3 main dishes mahi mahi. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. You're unprepared, that's understandable, that's fine. I'm pescaterian and they only have meat dishes left. What about vegetarian options? They said none. And said we'll cook you chicken instead. Clearly they don't understand that no meat dietary restrictions means no fish. I declined and said I'll be leaving.
I offered to pay for 2 out of the friends who decided to come with me so I won't be having Thanksgiving dinner alone. The Swedes didn't care and the gave me so much attitude. They bad mouthed my friends who brought them all of these clients and are old friends of the restaurant. That was really upset me.
This ruined my Thanksgivings dinner but definitely sealed the envelop for me. I will never go back here or recommend it to my friends. I certainly will avoid this place...

CONS menu options poorly selected ingredients not fresh total lack of creativity chef
Basically a diner would have been more satisfying. I wanted to give this restaurant a second chance because the first time I went here was disappointing too but it has such a cute location and it’s such a gay friendly place that I wanted to give it a second chance.
The location and friendliness when arriving were very positive but then…
The menu and the food lacks not only creativity, the quality of ingredients is just very poor. It’s not fresh and you can taste that.
I’m truly wondering how it is possible that this restaurant has a ranking of 4 stars and higher. Fishy
I eat a lot in restaurants from entry level price points to high end and I can appreciate all categories but this is one of those places that ruins my evening because there is clearly no genuine care about their guests, otherwise they wouldn’t serve low quality meals as they do.
For the same price you pay here you can eat like a king at Azafran a few blocks further. I hope that management of the Swedes will wake up and start to invest in their restaurant with their guest I mind, may then they would deserve...
