It’s hard to go wrong with almost any restaurant in the Romantic Zone. Tuna Azol is no exception with excellent service and typically fresh and flavorful ingredients. Hating to ever wait on line, we reluctantly agreed to put our names on a list that the hostess said was 5 to 7 minutes. Lo and behold, five minutes later we did get inside but the table wasn’t a real table; it was two bar stools overlooking the street. We didn’t really care and the food was worth the short wait.

My wife ordered a delicious passion fruit margarita (our personal favorite because it reminds us of our time living in Thailand). My lime mojito was generously big and served in a margarita glass. Great start to the meal

We stuck to small plates; assorted cocktail (we chose cold) had lots of shrimp and fish and amazing light crackers for dipping. Second dish was lobster tacos; fresh and flavorful. Third dish was garlic shrimp tacos; garlicky and excellent. My favorite was mango habanero ahi tuna. Served over a bed of salsa and rather large, it also came with those awesome light tortilla like toast crackers. Not excessively spicy at all and they give you four types of sauces in case you need more flavors.

Servers come typically fast and are friendly like most in PV. And ours was obsessed with cleanliness; he came by every two minutes to clear plates, used napkins and anything else that may have fallen on the table. No issues with that in a post Covid world. They don’t rush you out despite being crowded either so all around I can find nothing negative to say. Excellent...

Food was great, me and my husband went twice while we’re in PV. He ordered and liked the burrito with octopus inside, and I went for tostada with shrimp ceviche and tuna ahi. The shrimp was tasty and delicious but the Tuna ahi was really salty.

Drinks were okay, we ordered piñada and mangonada. (If I said it right) Taste was okay, nothing special about the drinks.

Atmosphere was okay.

Server was always staring at you (or maybe in your direction) or hence it’s their way of being attentive but it’s somehow awkward.

After getting our bill and we pay in Peso, the amount of money and change that we gave was big enough, generous of us to not to care for it but somehow, this server…. came back to our table and ASKING us for more tip, and told us that the tip should be more. I was surprised because our first visit wasn’t like this, but this server really took his time to explained to us that we should be giving more tip. My husband got annoyed and asked him if he doesn’t like it, we’re going to take the change back and he just walked away.

Our server was younger and he works in the second floor. He is not even a good server, he didn’t communicate to us nor given our food. He just brought the drink and gave the straw. That’s it. So why would we give you the amount of tip that you were asking for or might deserve and second of all, tip is not obligated to.

Overall, food was good. Service may be good if you get a...

MYSTERY!!! I am totally baffled by the high reviews of Tuna Azul. We visited the restaurant twice this year. Once in February & again in early May. My partner had the Tuna Montaditos both visits, which he liked. My first visit I had the lobster tacos. They were OK but where is the lobster? You should be able to taste the lobster in a lobster taco. As an entre I ordered the garlic shrimp the first visit. Again, just OK. I'm always willing to give a restaurant a second chance so, on my May visit I tried different items. The Rock Shrimp appetizer was actually very good. As a matter of fact, its the only thing on the menu I recommend. As an entre I ordered the Tuna Azul Fillet. This place is named Tuna Azul. How can you go wrong ordering any Tuna dish? Well....the tuna filet looked like it came out of one of those frozen vacuum packed portions I can buy at my local Jewel grocery store here in Chicago. I even had to send it back because all of my sides were cold. Taste, nothing special. Maybe the place is called Tuna Azul because their tuna is frozen. The tuna on the poke seemed to be of a better quality and fresh. The staff is very good. I, however, go to restaurants for the food!! TUNA AZUL, pass on this one! The food is not worth...

We ate at this place for both lunch and dinner on a same day! The food is amazing. Their tuna is the best I ever had. Restaurant is cool inside with AC units and closed off windows. The house made hot sauce goes so well with their seafood tacos. The only downside we had was about the inconsistent of service. First we went for lunch and Jesus was our server and he was fabulous and so welcoming. We had great time there during lunch time so we came back for dinner the same day and had another server was so difference from Jesus. He didn’t tell us his name and didn’t welcome us, maybe he was tired or overworked? We don’t know. Then we asked for house water and he brought bottled water, we politely ask to have house water and we got this kind of look on his face that he was fed up with have to change the water for us. He didn’t bring any chips and crackers and disappeared for half of the time we were there or he was beside the bar playing on his phone. We wanted more food and could not locate our server, in the end the bartender helped us more than the server. Disappointed with the service but food was good both times.
