Food was good so props to the chefs and to the owners that put the menu together but our server (shorter young male) had a particularly bad attitude the entire night.

It started from the time we alerted him we had a reservation (it was past our rez time so we were checking, but he huffed) asking if we can see the food menu (waited nearly ten mins, clearly annoyed) sarcastically referencing that one of us didn't like our drinks (Amaras) and still left it on our bill when he agreed to swap it out. It wasn't a problem that he forgot to give us our wine but he had a bad attitude when we told him he charged us twice for it.

Listen I get it, he may have had a bad day, maybe we said something that he didn't like, or possibly worse (we're a diverse group). Whatever it was, at the end of the day we're still paying customers, going out of way to enjoy a relatively expensive meal at a supposed fine dining establishment, so the expectations are what they've set. If this was a small mom and pop shop charging $65 pesos for fish enchiladas, you wouldn't be reading this from me.

But La Fina is serving $550 pesos for rack of lamb and $200 pesos for their specialty drinks, so theyre no small mom and pop restaurante. With that, the amount of attitude was unacceptable. There are way too many other places providing the same quality of your food closer to the center of the city, at a much more affordable price point and without nearly close...

Nestled outside of the hustle bustle of Zona Romantica is a hidden gem that should be a world renowned restaurant. This place deserves a Michelin star. We got there at 7, right when dinner service opened, and we’re told they are fully booked. Shortly after they decided to open a new table just for us! The food here is incredible and honestly some of the best Mexican food we ever had. How did this place not get traction in its three years of existence? We got 5 entrees, one main, and a dessert, and left bloated. This was honestly too much food for two people. The entrees here are huge, as well as the drinks. As dishes go, we got the beef medallions, catch of the day ceviche, veal quesadillas, tuna ahi, and some other dishes. All amazing. This is a must in Puerto Vallarta. But make a reservation because it’s fully booked every night. The only note I have is that service was a bit slow, but we didn’t mind because the dishes are so filling we needed some rest...

The Best Food in Puerto Vallarta

La Fina is one of our favorite restaurants in PV. Our Saturday night dinner for five was as good if not better than previous visits.

Three of our guests are PV residents and frequent visitors but were new to La Fina. “This is the best meal I’ve had in PV in five years.”

Service was good. The team was attentive and knowledgeable but could have been a bit friendlier. Food and drinks were served quickly and correctly.

Food was excellent. Every dish was prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. The flavors were fresh, bright and complementary. We had the mahi special, the pork chop, tenderloin and beef huarache. Appetizers were shared lamb quesadilla and pork belly. The portions were just right.

The atmosphere could not have been better. The tables are close and we had pleasant short interactions diners in our area.

Call for reservations a few days or more ahead. It’s well worth working it into...

I recently dined at La Fina in Puerto Vallarta, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and beautifully decorated interior set the tone for a fabulous evening. The menu is a testament to authentic Mexican cuisine, with each dish offering a burst of flavor that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico. I started with the fresh salad, prepared fresh and it was the best I’ve ever had. For the main course, I chose their signature duck flautas, tamale, and lamb quesadillas – a perfect blend of spices, rich and savory. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend La Fina for anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this restaurant is a gem that guarantees a culinary adventure you won’t forget.
