McCarthy's Irish Pub | Puerto Vallarta — Restaurant in Jalisco

Do yourself a favor and stay away from here. Party of 4 on a Tuesday at 8pm. Ordered 12 wings and two orders of fries. 1hr 15 mins later we received the worst, cold, floppy fries and overcooked, dry, literally turn-into-straw-while-chewing- them wings. Each of us tasted one wing and put them back, baffled about the bad quality of the food! This is when we searched the reviews on Internet and now so wished we did before we set foot here. We returned all of three barely touched "food" items, and told our sweet waitress the food was subpar, she could take it back to the kitchen and we were leaving please bring our tab. Talked to the manager, told him there has to be a problem in the kitchen, the temperatures are not right AND MY COMPLAINT TODAY IS FAR FROM BEING THE ONLY ONE AS PER I JUST FOUND OUT IN GOOGLE REVIEWS. This man ("manager") brought us the tab with every food item we returned. He literally tried to make us pay for food we turned around immediately. I ended up flat out telling him I am not paying for ANY of the three "food" items. He dared to say "but you did eat a few wings". Like, seriosuly it was four of us and each one of us tried one. We were hungry, we wanted to like this. We went back and forth for about 10 minutes. He then was emboldened to tell us "no one else is complaining". Embarrasing, petty, sad taking in consideration the real estate this place sits at. Until I flipped out my phone and pulled out my same complaint on reviews he then back down and finally brought us our correct tab. I am not one to leave bad reviews, I always talk to management or the kitchen but tonight the unskilled kitchen, the slow service (again, the kitchen) and the lack of professionalism from "management" (that man is far from being a manager and should not be providing customer service), for all these reasons unfortunately they deserve this write up. We vacation in Puerto Vallarta every year and this is the second year in a row that we have given this Pub many opportunities to prove themselves and once again it was an epic fail. The pub was supposed to open at 1 and when one of the workers let us in she was scolded for allowing us to come in which we're not sure why other than we were told immediately that we could only order drinks from the bar as the kitchen wasn't ready yet. The day before we were there and tried to order wings but they were out of those. This also occurred last year twice when we were there. Not only were they out of wings they ran out of other things on their menu and came back to our table three times to have us change our order because they couldn't provide what we ordered. We did stay an order a beer and waited about 15 minutes while one of the servers did another servers hair over by a nearby table. the music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation so we asked them to turn it down which they did only briefly then crank it back up again. Whoever owns this restaurant clearly needs to get a grip on who ever in charge of that kitchen and the professionalism of...

We came here with a group of 8. The dinner started off well with drinks( didn’t have same adams or any Dunkel beer) not a big deal. We then ordered 7 burgers, and boneless wings with no sauce. The wings came out first with bone in. They were sent back and ultimately corrected. The burgers we received came out in batches of two. It was 15 minutes between the time the last couple in our group got their food and the first. All the meanwhile other food for other tables were coming out of the kitchen. The burger was fine. The classic burgers came without bacon(shows it on the menu) and the chili burger came without jalapenos(shows it on the menu) and with a spoon of chili.

This restaurant is one to avoid. As a person who travels to Puerto Vallarta frequently this is sub par at best. Id recommend google translate, as nobody speaks English and a bottle of water comes out as soda water in a can. Interesting that they market themselves as an Irish sports bar but.
