For craft beer drinkers in PV, I've found your home. Monzon is such a good find in a for those of us who appreciate flavour with their beer. We've tried almost everything. My wife loves the Sol a sol (hibiscus wit beer) and you could pretty much had me anything from any of their taps. I've been happier with each beer that's been handed to me. If you're a lighter beer drinker, get your hands on the Kolsch. If you're an IPA drinker, you have something to look forward too. Real care has been taken by the brewmaster to ensure the balance of each of their product. On top of that, considering the small size of the kitchen, puts out a really amazing assortment of dishes. To get a great sampler of their small plates, come during happy hour. Well filled ourselves up... then we may have had fish tacos, too. Not a bad decision in the slightest. Located about 2 blocks off the beach, you can slip in for a pint or two before your better half flips over to sunburn the other side of their body. Who will be laugh later? You or el camaron? Oh... and little side note. Servers show up at your table with a bottle of free water. Tell me another restaurant in town that does that. Nice touch.

This is a solid choice to go for a tasty craft beer while in PV — but I would skip the food. After exploring their adventurous beer menu, I decided to try the Thai Chicken tacos. Having previously lived in Thailand, I knew to keep my expectations low - but I needed to lower them even more after ordering this top-of-the-menu item. The prominent flavor profile of this menu item is boiled chicken - to be accurate, it tastes like boiled chicken with curry seasoning sprinkled atop. How does the flavor of boiled chicken overpower the pronounced flavor of curry I will never know. And the more I think about it, the less I want to eat anything from this gastropub. Needless to say, I only ate half of one taco and couldn't stomach the rest. Buyer beware: order the delicious beers and skip the food.

The BEST tacos we've had in Mexico paired with a great variety of beers. I cannot say enough good things about the tacos, they were fresh and the flavors were incredible. Wonderful service, too. Our server was funny and charismatic, and very helpful. We asked for suggestions about other breweries in Puerto Vallarta and he let us know where the best ones were. We will definitely be back before our trip is over! Update: We went back on our last day in PV and had an even BETTER experience. The food is to die for and the beer is top notch. The owner was visiting with customers and sharing stories about his time in Mexico which made it feel very welcoming. Our server, Kassy, was superb and provided outstanding service. We can't wait to go back!

Response to Owner:

Hi Miranda- The incident was on the night of 1/30/2024. We arrived to the brewery around 6:30pm and left sometime before 9:30pm. We ordered 6 beers, the elote corn, 3 tacos, and tried to order a Chile Relleno burrito. Which I was served a burrito bowl, and was rudely told “we don’t have burritos” with an eye roll.

I am also a small business owner in the food realm, and this behavior from an employee is completely flabbergasting. And for you as an owner to push back on an honest review is even more flabbergasting. Your staff was rude, we were served incorrect beers, the food was cold and bland, and we were served an incorrect food item. So we’re expected to leave some grandiose tip for extremely lack luster service, sub par food, just OK beer, and an underwhelming experience. No. I’ve been coming to Mexico since I was a child and it’s because of tourism that you not only have a modernized brewery that’s appreciated by foreigners, but your staff have jobs and you have a business. Tourism has mainstreamed a tipping system in Mexico, and tips should still be worked for. They are not required by customers. And your male staff member seemed to think that, by calling customers BACK into an establishment to leave a tip. We were literally on the street, and he called us back into the brewery. He pointed at the glass cup on the counter and said “that’s where the tip goes”. Confused my husband went back into the bar and was publicly shamed and accosted for not leaving a tip. After some exchanges and further push back from your male staff member, my husband gave them $25USD just to placate the confrontation and harassment. Your male staff members response was “That’s better”.

I really hope this gives some clarity on the situation. We love breweries, and are easy people to please. But this situation was absolutely ridiculous. We were actually planning on coming back the next evening for trivia, but after a collection of very meh moments in the few hours we were there, which ended in public humiliation, we would never step foot back into this establishment. Best of luck.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do not publicly and verbally shame me because my tip wasn’t big enough for your liking. The fact that we got called BACK into the brewery to be harassed about not leaving a large enough tip is absolutely ridiculous. Never in my life has this happened- not while traveling or at home. After continued harassment from the male server who called us back in, we ended up giving him a $25 USD “tip” for 6 beers and three tacos, so he would leave us alone. His response was “that’s better”.

Oh and also, one of the three beers I personally had you served me the wrong one and I drank it anyways without saying anything. Then when I ordered the chile relleno burrito, I was served a burrito bowl. After this was brought to the female servers attention, the male server rudely came over and said they don’t have any burritos with an eye roll.

Honestly,...

Excellent beer! Wonderful service! Good people! What more is there to say. Get in here if you want great beer! 🍺 After two years away I am back and have changed my five star to a three star. They have removed the bar that I liked to sit at and not a fan of the upstairs. Usually places get better and this place has gotten worse! Also they have raised the prices. I had one beer the pail ale and it was just ok! I will go back to sample a few more beers but expecting the worse! Too bad too because the owners are really nice but obviously not too hip as this place is worse not better. 🤔🤨😐

I've been back several times to Pv and decided to stop back in and I asked the bartender if they had hazy beer and she just looked at me funny. So I ordered a pail ale and after a minute I looked at the menu and low and behold they have two. I asked why she didn't tell me and she said she was thinking. Odd response but whatever. Beer is good but for $5 and $6 USD for a beer I will continue not coming here. Other people obviously don't have a problem paying these prices in mexico but honestly I would rather pay $3 for a Pedro Lisa...
