When it comes to staying in Puerto Vallarta's bustling Zona Romántica, it is essential to find a hotel that offers a tranquil retreat amidst the vibrancy of the city. One such place is the Los Marcos Suites that we recently had the pleasure of visiting. While it is an older establishment, its charm lies in the ageless elegance it exudes and the exceptional service it provides.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the quintessential warmth and hospitality Mexico is known for. The staff, always smiling, were prompt and efficient, ready to assist with any needs or queries we had.
Our suite was a delightful surprise. It was not just large, but also immaculately clean and tastefully furnished, offering an undeniable sense of home. The layout was thoughtful, allowing for ample movement and restful slumber in acomfortable bed.
The ease of access to the hotel's pool was an added bonus. This idyllic oasis, always maintained in perfect condition, provided a refreshing respite from the tropical sun. Whether it was an early morning swim or a late afternoon dip, the pool proved to be a charming area for relaxation.
Furthermore, the location of the hotel is second to none. A convenient walk brings you to the beautiful beach, a plethora of restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, and a myriad of shopping options. The Zona Romántica is full of life, and staying in the heart of it allows for an immersive experience of the city's vibrant culture.
However, every rose has its thorn, and the only downside of our stay was something beyond the control of the hotel's diligent staff. There is ongoing construction directly across the street from the hotel. The machinery and construction workers create a significant amount of noise, which does intrude upon the otherwise serene environment. It's an unfortunate reality of the hotel's central location, and hopefully, a temporary one.
Nevertheless, even with the inconvenience of the construction noise, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. The spacious suite, the location, the cleanliness, the staff, and the overall ambiance more than make up for the temporary nuisance.
If you're seeking an authentic taste of life in Puerto Vallarta, this is an excellent choice. This older hotel gracefully bridges the past and the present, crafting an experience that is both nostalgically charming and thoroughly modern. With the understanding that the construction noise is a temporary hiccup, a stay here comes highly recommended for anyone wishing to truly embrace the Zona...
Read moreWe visit PV 2-3 times a year, we had stayed in several locations/ hotels throughout the years, and our opinions are exclusively compared with our previous experiences. We bought the all-inclusive 7nights to experience and compare to other resorts and values. We loved the location, very secluded. there was construction across the street, so the noise level at the time of visit was not pleasant. Very close to lots of restaurants and shops, a block from the beach. we had access to the beach umbrellas and chairs. with the all-inclusive, No Wifi connection. Tried at all 3 of their hotels and it couldn't connect. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, in their sister hotel a block away of made to order eggs, xhilaquiles, fruits etc, but the lunches and dinners were very repetitive and lacked variety. Noticed that the waiters will totally ignore you unless you tip them well on your first day. They over attended to big tables consuming alcohol and avoid the rest, just for tips. Hotel is old and our room was as such and clean where visible. The A/C was functioning, but I have to use my personal fan at times, we traveled in December, so I will question the performance on hotter summer days. Drapes in bedroom were not darkening. We were awake as soon as the sun came up. We had a kitchennet in our room, and neither the stove nor the hood worked. There was a coffee maker in there also without coffee or filter. The staff stated it wasn't provided and we could get coffee from the lobby. The worst for us was the mattress super old and hard, it had an egg crate topper with just a sheet on top of it and no mattress protection. Nothing offered at this hotel, except for pool towels. If any food or drinks were needed, we were directed to their sister hotel across the street or the one on the beach. Would I stay here again? No. You'll get what...
Read moreGreat location, reasonably clean and spacious, good amenities. We basically got what we expected. Good value.
Our suite had a king bed, sitting area, kitchenette and small 3 piece bathroom. The kitchenette had a small fridge, hotplates, coffee maker, toaster, basic dishes/cutlery. No bottle opener, no salt, pepper, sugar, paper towels or condiments of any kind. 2 complimentary bottles of water each day. Complimentary coffee in the main lobby each morning.
Small balcony overlooking the small pool area in the courtyard. No privacy between neighbours on the balconies. Partitions or some type of screens could be easily installed by the hotel to solve this issue. Generally fine though and a good place to have a coffee or a drink.
AC was noisy but it worked. Noise from the surrounding neighbourhood actually wasn't too bad, especially with the AC running.
Daytime staff at the check in counter but we were surprised there was not night time security or any way to lock the hotel. Anybody could have walked right in, so the only security was our hotel door. We had no issues while we were there. There was a safe in our room.
Small swimming pool and covered sitting area in the courtyard. Tidy and fine but not somewhere we would spend extended time. We had access to the private beach in front of the main Los Arcos hotel but not to the Los Arcos hotel pool. We also had access to a rooftop patio/pool in the small boutique hotel directly across the street. This was very nice. I believe that was adults only. That pool was closed for a few days during our visit and we were given access to the main Los Arcos hotel pool for that period.
Staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would recommend it and would...
