Murphy's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Jalisco

With friends in town from Germany we wanted a memorable evening for the 2025 NYE celebration and Murphy’s did not disappoint. The two floor restaurant each with balconies overlooking the heart of the famous Malecon was a perfect location to take in some of the best New Year entertainment the city has to offer. This is a perfect venue on a normal day for a cold cerveza, a refreshing margarita, people watching and a stunning view of the beautiful Bay. On NYE, it is all of that and more and our friends loved it and have even more memories to last a lifetime. This was a great deal with our seats being the most expensive at 2k pesos each including unlimited drinks from their select menu from beer to sangria and an all you can eat buffet with several options from chicken wings to roast pork loin and really, really good fish-n-chips. Used to be one of my go-to spots every time I came to Vallarta, not so much nowadays, I still go because of the location, that’s about it, took the daily specials, jacked up the prices and made 0 improvements to the place, menu, or service, men’s bathroom door has been broken for months now, service is just average at best, half the time is just one person and only a few items available on the menu, I’ve been in Vallarta for a few months now and boy, what a difference when you walk in as a local, my tipping went from the usual 18-20% to a few pesos, im from Vegas so I know about tipping and the service industry, there’s one guy (bald headed) good waiter awesome attitude, too excited sometimes lol. Before I critique the restaurant, I just want to give a shout out to my homie Jose. Never has there been a better server in the PV food industry. As for the food, everything was well priced, with solid portions and exquisite flavor. We also purchased a variety of drinks and were very impressed with the taste and quality. The service was so good and everything was delivered with speed and accuracy. As stated, our server Jose was very attentive to our needs and extremely helpful when we had questions. My boyfriend and I enjoyed lunch so much, that we came back for drinks later that night and they had a live band performance. The performance was amazing and again the service was terrific.
