I ate here today, and wow! Will not be back! I'm a local, and I wanted to try something New, as I walked in I sat down, by myself, and the Walter handed me the menu 2 minutes after I say down, keeping in mind I was the only client their! And he offered me something to drink, I asked for the drink menu, he said I can't give it to you, I asked for a green juice, but he didn't even know the ingredients! And it was just water with spinach, I order red chilaquiles with chicken, I finished the juice because I had just finished a work out, and I waited more then 15 minutes for the waiter to go to my table and he only went because he took my meal, he took my glass and didn't even offer something new to drink, I had to almost yell and ask for coffee, I got my chilaquiles and they were cold! And when I wanted to tell the server there was no one around not even at the bar so I decided to eat them anyway because I was hungry, 15 mi utes passed and finally he came over, (I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER!!!) After I asked for the check he took it immediately, and ke stood right next to the table, until I paid, afterwards he brought back my check, and he stood right next, and said don't forget the TIP!!! I paid more than 300 pesos!! Where I could have eating better in the marina but the worst part was him asking for a TIP! After food and mostly the SERVICE WAS...
Read moreI recently visited Abuelita Nelly, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped in, the warm aroma of freshly made tortillas and bright colors took over. The ambiance was vibrant yet cozy.
Food: The menu was a celebration of authentic Mexican cuisine, and every dish we tried was a masterpiece. The Quesabirria was fantastic. Those homemade tortillas were to die for. Made table side and the kids loved watching
Drinks: We got some great home made juice that was delicions.
Service: The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. The owner is awesome
Value: For the quality and portions, the pricing was very reasonable. You could tell that every ingredient was fresh and treated with care.
Verdict: Abuelita Nelly is a gem that stands out in a sea of generic. Whether you're craving comfort food, exploring bold flavors, or simply looking for a great night out, this restaurant delivers in every way. Five stars and already planning my next...
Read moreBait and switch? Walked in when the restaurant was empty around 8pm, we were welcomed promptly, attentive and friendly staff, food was delicious. However, when it was time to pay, the bill was a lot higher than the price on the menu. The waiter "upgraded" the dish without asking us (we ordered camarones al ajo, which the server perfectly understood because he repeated it back to us, which was supposed to be 310 pesos, we ended up paying more than 500 for it because he gave us "bigger shrimps" that we did not ask for). 4 shrimp and a small cup of rice ended up costing us more than our hotel room! They barely apologized. We walked out with empty wallets, literally. Will never eat...
