On our mission to find the best tacos in Cabo San Lucas, we stumbled up on this place. We were looking for Los Claros, but they moved. We decided to try the food - it seemed to be locals only kind of affair and it did not disappoint.
We tried chicken tacos, steak tacos and tacos al pastor. Al Pastor was best in Cabo - we’ll, at least better than 4-5 places we tried. Fresh, warm tortillas, dipped in pork juices with tasty, crispy pork and warm grilled pineapple. They were so good, I’d just ignore the steak and chicken ones. Don’t even bother with those.
They are served as meat and tortilla only, and they bring you a bunch of salsas. Pickled onions with habaneros, jalapeño salsa, thin and runny but tasty guacamole, fresh limes, pico de gallo, fresh cucumbers, cilantro and diced onions. Jalapeño salsa looked like tomatillo salsa, and I made the gringo mistake of loading too much of it on my taco. Mexican coke and horchata for the win! And salvation from the heat :)
They also sell the Al Pastor by the kilo - they serve it on a platter, with a big pile of tortillas, with fresh pineapple and onions and cilantro on the side, and other toppings where they same. It is still tasty and cheaper than ordering the tacos al Pastor, but ordering them as tacos is better - pineapple is warm, tortillas are dipped in pork juice, just tastes better.
No seafood tacos in this place, but servers very super nice and al Pastor was amazing....
Read moreThis place is such an insane and ridiculous ripoff. Absolutely the worst value out of any taqueria in Cabo San Lucas, by far. What an overpriced joke for relatively average Mexican food. The people who run this restaurant are such shady and cheap scumbags. Their menu prices are not clear at all. Extremely confusing and they overcharge you by an exorbitant amount if they see that you're not a native Mexican or Spanish speaker. Very shady and horrible place to eat at. I can get equally good tacos, if not better, for literally half the price at other taquerias. Not only that, when you order takeout, they package the sauces for you in just the most obnoxious and irritating manner possible. You'll be wasting half an hour just trying to painstakingly open individual salsa packets while your food gets cold. Horrible experience. On top of that, these people desperately ask for an extra tip even when you order takeout. Why should I pay a tip when I'm not dining in at your restaurant? On top of your already ridiculous prices? Are you serious? The only advantage of this joke ripoff taqueria is that they're open late at night. It should only be an absolute last resort if you have nowhere else to go at, say, 1am. Avoid this horrendous place at all costs. Terrible value and terrible business practices. I'm never coming to this place again. Completely atrocious. Go to somewhere like Taqueria El...
Read moreThe best tacos, quesadillas, asados and sauces and toppings I've had, ever. I stayed a week here in Cabos, tried an Italian place, another taqueria, a Brazilian steakhouse and none of them came even close in food quality. Everything is just right, the seasoning, the temperature, the great sauces, onions, herbs, fruits that come with the dishes. You can get a pound of tacos al Pastor for around $10 here. That's more than enough for 2 ! Even loaded up nicely, this will give you approximately 15 tacos loaded with that seasoned, tender, crusty orange-brown thinly sliced meat with the avocado sauce or the habanero sauce and onion and salsa and cilantro and tiny pineapple strips and... OMG I have to stop writing, I'm salivating again ! Quick service, friendly manager, the cooks who started to wave us hello after the third time we came here, the friendly lady in the kitchen who smiles at you when you wash your hands - you can wash your hands with soap at a sink in the dining room, without having to enter the bathroom ! A little unusual, but very welcome when you just want to wash your taco eating hands like me, having barely drunk anything as the food is...
