La Pintada was one of the highlights of our cruise down the Mexican coast. Our server Danny is an excellent host. Try the Punto G and ask Danny or any of the service staff to tell you about all the medical benefits this beverage has to offer (you won't be disappointed). The Lobster Enchiladas is a succulent and rich dish. The chapulines and guacamole with housemade chicharrones is awesome! The guacamole is like whipped butter and the chapulines are a little nutty to taste. The calamari is fresh and cleaned (none of that dirty fish tank flavor or smell that comes from sitting under refrigeration for more than a day). The pico de gallo is the freshest I've tasted anywhere. I could go to the produce store right now, buy a basket full of vegetables, come straight home and prepare a pico myself and it still would not be as fresh as the offering here. This restaurant set the bar high for the rest of our trip and to think we found it by accident. That is partly why I am writing this revue: people who do better research than myself will be doing their vacation experience a big service by visiting La PIntada. I was so unprepared for what I would find that I didn't even bring my phone to take photos (still kicking myself for...
Read moreWe are craft beer fans, we're also fans of exceptional food! La Pintada offers both, plus an awesome venue and some of the friendliest service in Cabo. Cabo has a lot of dining choices, we've yet to find one that exceeds the experience here. The entire space is beautiful, but if you enjoy sitting at the bar, it's really cool with a heavy timber "live edge" bar top, a chalk board listing all the brews (and stats) plus very attentive bartenders like Pablo! They have the largest selection of craft beers in town and their food rivals the top gourmet dining spots. We've been going there for 5+ years since it originally opened as Ramuri Cerveceria. It still has the same owner (Edith Jimanez of "Edith's" & "The Office" fame) and has only gotten better over the years. Roberto is the manager and he exemplifies what a restaurant manager should be. Pizzas are perfect from the wood oven, steaks from the wood fired grill are always at the perfect temperature, the list goes on from there. Let's be clear, THIS IS NOT BAR FOOD! Even if craft beer isn't your thing, you won't be disappointed...
Read moreWe had a late lunch, so the place was pleasantly quiet. Our waiter (Ephraim) was outstanding- he was helpful and friendly, he has a fantastic knowledge of the food and culture and drink, and he loved to share it with us. The food and drink was equally outstanding: We had the "executive menu" with the tortilla soup, the Greek salad, the grilled flank steak "con nopales", and the chicken enchiladas with red mole. I think they were all the best version of that food we've ever had! My wife fell in love with chimichurri sauce, and Ephraim made sure to give her a great recipe. We enjoyed the "Diablo Blanco" beer and the Berlinerweisse (didn't catch the name!).
This was our first "real meal" in Cabo, and it set a really high standard of excellence in food, drink and service. Highly recommend for a great date or special meal, or if you just enjoy great...
