What a terrible place. We wanted to enjoy a nice dinner in the evening. A grumpy lady seated us at a table, and then we were completely ignored for the first 35 minutes. When my girlfriend mentioned that I needed to drink due to medication, otherwise, I would faint, we still had to wait another 15 minutes for a bottle of water. We ordered our food right away at that point. Meanwhile, everyone around us was already being served, and even people who had arrived after us had already received their meals.

After 45 minutes, some food finally arrived , the worst salad we have ever had. We ate it only because we were starving. We then waited another 30 minutes, thinking our tacos were coming, but it turned out to be the wrong order for the table next to us. When our food eventually did arrive, it was once again placed on the wrong table. The food was cold, and the steak in the tacos was completely overcooked, inedible. Again, nothing was done about it.

To make matters worse, my cutlery was taken away, and I never received a replacement. We repeatedly told the waiters that we were unhappy, but our complaints were met with nervous laughter. When it came time to pay, they seemed surprised that we didn’t leave a tip, despite the overpriced food, small portions, and all the issues we had just repeated to them. Paid $1275 MXN for shitty food and our evening ruined. Do...

Terrible service - twice. I hate writing bad reviews, but twice in the last week, we've been met with incredibly rude service here. We initially came last weekend, but when we went to check-in, we were told we made a reservation at their location at Paseo 60 and were quickly ushered out. Fair enough - that was our bad, but we were still taken aback by how we were treated. Figuring they were just having an "off" night, we made a reservation last night at the correct location via OpenTable. When we showed up a few minutes before our reservation, the hostess asked to see the reservation and quickly told us we had the wrong location. We showed them the email confirmation from OpenTable (with their address - we were at the correct restaurant) and the hostess went to get someone else who told us that they were fully booked and OpenTable hadn't (apparently) reflected that. The hostess and other staff person (I'm guessing manager) were very cold and rude about it and offered no sort of apology or attempt to rectify the situation - just told us they had no room for us. We ended up going across the street to Apoala, who made room for us and treated us incredibly well. We are in Merida for a month, but after these two experiences with TEYA, we will never be returning nor recommending this location (or their other...

What a gorgeous space, wow. My first night in Merida l walked by and said to my friend, "we must try this place!" We stopped in the next day, we were greeted by a very rude hostess saying they had a kitchen issue. As someone who works in the industry, I felt so bad. Later in that same evening they were open so we tried again. They said they were closed, 2 hours prior than their scheduled time. Ok fine. The next day I made a reservation and punctually arrived. The same hostess met us with a very cold and dismissive tone. After sitting down for 10 mins, in an almost empty restaurant we were finally greeted. We were told that they were out of all of there signature items on the menu, but nothing else. Both of us wanted things that they weren't offering. We decided to stay for a drink. What a mistake. It took 45 mins just to get a drink, ask for the check 3 times and leave. My cocktail was delicious, but I have never tried to hard to enjoy a space and be treated to poorly in the process. This is not hospitality. Would not recommend to anyone. After the long wait to get out of there, we ended up having to order to go burgers down the street to take back to the hotel. Not the dining experience we were looking for on our only Saturday evening in this...

The waiter recommended the flan and I’m so happy he did. The flan was out of this world! The manjar blanco was so coconut-y and creamy. Definitely the best dessert in Merida! Dinner was expensive. My venison ragu was bland and tasted like regular ground meat. My sister’s fish dish and my moms beef tips were good. Also I asked for the Chaya mojito without rum and vodka instead but they couldn’t accommodate this. The waiter said its premixed or something. I get headaches with rum but I guess it was worth it LOL All this said, the ambiance and the dessert out weighed everything else so 5 stars! It would be nice if the flan had a little garnish. She deserves something elegant to dress her up!

Great food, and really friendly service. We stopped her for dinner, and it was quiet (we ate early for Mérida at 6.30pm), but it was great. We had a couple of fantastic dishes, including; stuffed Gouda cheese (with beef mince) - this was surprisingly good… we chose it because it was different. It tasted a bit like a lasagne (note* it’s not lasagne size). But for something different give it a go. We also had the Fish of the day!! That was outstanding. Definitely have that, perfectly cooked and on point. Our girls had the beef tacos with pineapple and loved it. The pricing was good value for Mérida.

The restaurant is placed very well. At the night in this area is a lot of going on. The locations looks very well, it's well done with a lot of plants. I like the mood there. The food was very tasty, it was local food of yucatan. They have also some different local beers, if you like to drin beer, I can recommand the Yucatan Beer. The service was very well. The price was fair for what we got. It was little bit more expensive like other places, but you got a lot of for this price. There is no parking spot direct at the restaurant. You have to look at the public parking spots.
