A cozy café with great pastries but misses the mark on drinks. We sat outside and had our drink orders taken right away. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk, but it was a huge disappointment. It tasted like warm milk with no hint of chai. On the other hand, the cappuccino we ordered had beautiful café art, which was a nice touch.
The café itself was charming, and the outdoor space was a great spot for a chat, though the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. The staff, for the most part, was nice, especially the barista who handled our bill. When we went inside to pay, I noticed a variety of pastries, and the cinnamon roll with coconut bits caught my attention. I took it to go, and after warming it up at home, it was delicious. I would have preferred to enjoy it at the café, which was a bit of a shame.
Prices were average for the area (chai latte was $70 with an extra $20 for oat milk). While the café was a delight, the chai latte was a huge letdown, but the cinnamon roll was a...
Read moreIf you're not a smoker, nor fond of smoking, maybe this isn't the best spot. There's definitely a no smoking sign posted inside, but not even 3 meters away, from the tables at the wideopen doorframe, smokers' fumes flood the shop. Heriberto Zapata is a barista here, and was asked if it would be possible to move a table so that a wall would block the smoke from entering the shop. He replied, 'si esta en contra de la ley de mudar una de las mesas. Voy aver que pase.' Three cigarettes and 30 minutes later, he had still done nothing. Nothing?! Isn't it against the law and also against the shop's own [POSTED] rules to have smoke inside the shop? If it weren't for this carelessness, this might be a nice place to take coffee and dessert. In my case, I'll be looking...
Read moreCame to this cafe a few times. Our first few times were great, even though the service was always lacking (we didn’t get served in 20+min, ended up walking up to the bar to order). Because we did love the coffee so much, we bought some packs for home as well. Unfortunately, the coffee was ground too fine for our espresso machine (it does not extract the coffee), even though the baristas assured us that the grind is for an espresso machine. Today I bought some croissants that were stale. This is quite disappointing for the elevated price point they are asking for. Other cafes sell old pastries for a lower price. I used to love this place for its exquisite pastries and coffee, but the last few visits were really not...
