The appetizers were a no, but the entrées we got were good for lunch.
It looked super cute but sadly we were a little disappointed by the food and service. Maybe because they were busy, I'm not sure. Small things such as, my soup being served but I wasn't given a spoon, so I had to ask for one then wait. It wasn't a big deal but it was odd. Also, allocate a good 1.5-2 hours, that's how long it took us to be served, get our food, and finish eating. Also we had a concern with the bill. Two things, (1) Our bill said we were served complimentary bread, when we weren't, (2) and this was because of our language barrier, we had ordered an item from the menu, the breaded rib eye steak, but the server thought we ordered an off the menu item, the rib eye with spinach cream sauce. Even though we had pointed to the item on the menu. I think they got confused because we asked questions about sides and adding those to the meal.
The food was good! We just didn't realize the item we were eating wasn't the item we thought we ordered. When the bill arrived, the item listed was twice as much as what we thought we ordered. We talked to the server and he then explained what happened, he thought we ordered the off the menu item because we were asking questions about sides. The manager came over and they seemed annoyed at us for not knowing what we were eating... which was off-putting. We were willing to pay for the item we actually ate, it just would have been nice to know instead of being surprised when the bill arrives. The restaurant changed the the bill to instead include the item we ordered, which we thought was very considerate of them.

Read moreBeautiful atmosphere and seating. I really loved the vibe here. My girlfriend and I went twice in search of the best French toast. The first time we missed breakfast so had had lunch here. Both of our dishes were dry and without flavor (it felt like the food was not even salted). Furthermore, the waiter handed us the check right as we were finishing our meals. The timing just felt so off that even in the USA this would have been perceived as rude - we still wanted to order the dessert. Which happened to be amazing and redeemed the place for us. We ordered the French toast dessert and were beyond impressed with it.
We decided to come back a week later to have the French toast for breakfast. My girlfriend ordered and when it came to me I said “lo mismo para mi”. Which I would have thought that would mean I also wanted to order what she ordered for myself (I speak Spanish). The waiter must have not understood that because I did not even get a plate - just my girlfriend. She went ahead and started eating and the French toast was just not good. It looked just like the photos on google except what is not shown is it’s not fried nor seasoned. Plainly, it was a dry bread with jelly on it. Nothing was toasted about it. And the thing is is that all of the French toast is like this - that is not what the google reviews tell you. It’s not a traditional French toast - it’s bread with jelly. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for but why name it that. And it was just one single slice of bread.
Look, I get the hype. It’s a cute place with delicious drinks - but this place just does not live up yo the hype. I kinda expected more and would not recommend coming here. It’s overpriced (except the drinks are of good quality), but if you are in Mexico City and want to experience it fully, there are so many other places you can get...
Read moreWorst service. It’s started with being seated all the way in the back. It’s took over 5 minutes for a server to take out order of coffee. Then he dropped it off and never came back to take our food order. Must have waited another 5-10 Minutes until I asked a female server if someone was going to help us. She very rudely said what do you want. Took our order with an attitude. My DC ghetto self was about to come out. I did ask for a manager. Who came immediately to ask what the problem was. I informed her of the horrible service, first if you don’t fit the look they put you in the back room.. CELLAR… does this scream racism… yes definitely…just look at my photos…. I’m highly annoyed, offended….totally feel like racial profiling.. If you’re indigenous, not dressed in the latest fashion or are black this is the room you’re assigned. Waiting for my food. I should leave but I’m starving and had read raves reviews about the delicious food. They forgot to mention the racial profiling issue. Let’s see how my food turns out. Management need to train the hostess and wait staff…they need diversity training and learn to be more inclusive. Bola de nacos… did I forget to mention the hostess and the nasty female servers were both bunch of Nacas.. shame on both… part II of my review. Since being here they sat two African Americans in this back room. The food was not all that great. My French toast was soggy not great. Don’t think I’ll be coming...
