This place is just ok. The flavors are good but they aren’t any more special than your Pueblo taqueria. We went Monday at 3pm, there were about 5 empty tables when I showed up:

The tortillas are thick (in a bad way) and they fry two of them together so they are greasy and flavorless. I ended up asking for all my tacos with one tortilla. It was a good call.

We tried the trompo surtido - 3 were very good, the arracherra one was horrible.

The mojellas taco was very good, and the caramelized onions were a nice addition.

We also got a cachetada de trompo negro. This was the best thing we ordered. In the future I would order exclusively cachetadas.

Let me give them some credit - the salsas are super good. the type where you wanna put every salsa on every taco. My favorites were the spicier red salsa and the cacahuate salsa.. super good. And the little tiritas de totopos that they give you so you can try all the salsas is absolutely genius. Honestly every taqueria should do this.

I also had an agua de Jamaica that was spectacular. Maybe the best taqueria Jamaica I’ve had in a while.

Absolutely horrible service - waiters with bad attitudes, one waiter who wasn’t “our assigned server” was not interested in helping us, the captain was just standing at the front doing nothing. It took me atleast 5 minutes of being ignored by staff to finally get the check because my assigned waitress disappeared. I had to ask the captain twice because the first time he got distracted by the chisme at the front. No hostess to be seen, multiple people walked in to the restaurant (including me) , were ignored by the staff and just looked around confused until they engaged with a waiter and asked if they could sit anywhere.

Final verdict - you have better options around the corner. I think their specialty tacos and fries might be better but for a basic taco you’re better off at taqueria Alvaro...

Mucho ruido, pocas nueces.

As the name suggests, the service was full of “atarantados.” We had three waiters: the first one wrote everything down, made recommendations, and tried to be funny (making your customers laugh doesn’t guarantee good reviews or satisfaction). The second waiter entered the order into the iPad, missed half of it, and then claimed nothing was wrong. Poor attention to detail and a lack of ownership. The final waiter charged us for extra salsa, arguing that people abuse it. To make matters worse, they served warm beer and spilled drinks over one of my guests. They half-spilled mine but only replaced one. Good service would have meant two free shots at the very least.

It’s clear this chain lacks the customer service found in Monterrey. The owner has lost the essence of what made this place special, and I wouldn’t expect it to survive...

The tacos are slightly below average and on the expensive side, although the portions are good. I don’t really know what it is, maybe the tortilla or the sauces. The one thing I loved were the fries which are spicy and acid. They were just perfect. The ice cream was also stunning, I love that they have lulo snacks but considering how much is a lulo pint the price seems higher than it should be too. One thing I liked is that they have a bunch of portions for drinks, which is unusual in a taqueria sometimes. Service is fast and good once you’re seated, there’s usually a line so I’d recommend coming earlier than the typical lunch and dinner hours. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially if you need to make a line. I’d only come back for the fries and maybe order to go.
