Fierro Cantina offers an outstanding dining experience focused on authentic Mexican liquors. With an extensive selection of spirits, you can taste and explore a variety of Mexican liquors, which are also expertly used in their cocktail menu. The cocktails, some with a subtle kick of spiciness, were among the best we’ve had in Mexico City—truly not to be missed.
We began with the Ensalada Fierro, a salad featuring a deliciously smoky machaca dressing, which was a pleasant surprise. For mains, we tried the Carne Asada, which was perfectly grilled with corn ash and roasted onions, and the Pollo Asado, a generously portioned smoked chicken with fermented chili sauce—both were exceptional. However, the Carne Asada was the highlight for me, easily becoming my new favorite dish in the city.
The restaurant gets busy, so reservations are recommended. Many dishes, such as the Papas Galeana and Arroz con Chicharron, are naturally gluten-free, making it a great choice for those with dietary restrictions.
Fierro Cantina has quickly become one of our favorite spots, and we will definitely be regulars here. It’s one of the few places that impressed us so much that we wanted to leave a review right away. A must-visit for anyone in...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place and I did love the food but would not run back with the terrible service and experience we had.
We arrived at 6:15 on a Sunday when we had a reservation at 6:30 and immediately the server asked us what we wanted because the kitchen was closing. We found that to be very rude but we ordered and while we were eating we noticed that we felt really rushed, were not offered dessert, and the staff was cleaning up the entire restaurant to close at 6:45-7 when the restaurant closes at 8. We promptly left at 7pm and rushed out since we did not feel welcome. This was super disappointing and strange since we thought the food was delicious but we might not return since the service was so horrible.

Read moreI had a beautiful dinner at Fierro in Juárez and I’m already looking forward to going back. I started with the crudo de pescado, which was fresh and full of flavor, then had the carne asada which was perfectly grilled and deeply satisfying. I paired everything with two Negronis and two Rrei IPA beers that complemented the food wonderfully.
For dessert I tried the helado de gloria, fresas con crema, and a walnut jelly that were all rich, creative, and delicious. The service was warm, professional, and the atmosphere felt like a true celebration of northern cuisine in the heart of Mexico City.
It’s a place that combines honest flavor with elegance, and one I’d be happy to return to for more. I’m already eyeing the arroz con chicharrón and carne apache...
