If you want to try real Lebanese food, this is the place. We had been craving Lebanese food for a while and had to make do with the limited selections in the city, where you can only find the tired Mexican versions of the classics. A friend found this new place on Instagram, and we were not disappointed. Fuego oriental offers classic dishes (hummus, shawarma, falafel, etc.) in their best and most original versions and adds options that I had only seen in Beirut before. If you like garlic, you cannot go wrong with the "Alitas a la provenzal" (Chicken wings with garlic and coriander), as well as "papas a la provenzal", which is batata harra. Iâve spent nearly my whole life outside the Middle East, and I can confidently say that Fuego Oriental offers the most authentic Arabic food Iâve had abroad. Every dish transported me back home.
The kibbeh was perfectly cookedâcrispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. The grilled meats were tender, succulent, and seasoned just right, a rare find even at high-end Middle Eastern spots. The standout, though, was the toum sauceâabsolutely phenomenal. Creamy, garlicky, and out of this world.
The service was just as impressiveâwarm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Itâs clear the team takes pride in what they do.
