Hello and thanks for reading my review. Being a 1st time visitor to Mexico City, this has been, by far, the best restaurant I ate at.
I will breakdown everything about my visit covering food ordered, service and general ambiance.
Let's get started with the service: my main Waiter was "Adan" who did a fantastic job. He was so genuine and honest offering recommendations and insight to the food. Despite not being able to communicate in English (and my Spanish is obviously not that impressive), he did his best to understand my needs and offer advice. Ask for him you are next in. Also, the whole crew was nice and helpful, always checking that you are satisfied and content.
It's Food time but 1st things 1st, I have to start by saying that their dessert Arroz con Leche (rice pudding) is the best I ever had in my life. It comes with a top layer that has lots of cinnamon powder and raisins. Very fresh and so light, be careful as ordering one may drag the 2nd (couldn't resist). If I wanna describe it in 1 sentence: that must be what Heaven on earth tastes like ;)
As for main dishes: 1- Their very own traditional plate "Pozole" (like a soup) and you can choose amongst many different toppings (chicken, vegetables, etc.). The fluid portion is so rich in herbs and comes with a side of crispy toasted tortillas to dip. Very yummy and chicken was moist and well cooked. I got the Grande (big portion) which is enough for one person.
2- Comes along is the "Sope", which if you follow Google Translate it says it's a soup. Na na na, don't fall into this trap. I got it with Brisket (Mexican thin steak styled meat) and it was basically a massive tortilla layer with the steak and creme on top (no fluids and can be considered a main dish). Absolutely delicious like nothing else.
3- My least favourite was the "Flautas", it comes in a piece-by-piece order or just an order of 3 pieces at once. It is a rolled and fried crispy long tortillas filled with your choice of (chicken, meat, etc.) immersed in lettuce, creme and cheese. I got the chicken option and it was dry, best bit was the creme and cheese on top. I wouldn't recommend ordering Flautas unless you are a big fan :)
Ambiance in general is so nice and relaxing, very clean allover and in all fairness, I don't mind going there everyday if that's the quality and guaranteed satisfaction I...
Read moreIt was worth the wait on a Saturday afternoon. A friend suggested oh and stated pozole was a must and it was hands down one of the best meals we had in CDMX. As we walked up to the restaurant were in disbelief on how many people were waiting but could tell they were moving quickly. When it was our turn servers are very kind and quick. Our food was ready in no time! Served promptly and at the right hot temperature. We asked at the end for a few more items and servers were quick to bring. We really appreciated how attentive and kind all staff despite the amount of work and people they had. Totally recommend this place. Everything we ordered was delicious pozole, quesadilla with queso and flor de calabaza, table guacamole with pork rinds, and chicharron con chile rojo, arroz con leche and pan de elote. The pan de elote is served cold and a kind server stopped and offered to warm if we liked that. He was so quick. Again...
Read moreI was not aware about the number of restaurants this franchise has...but the one we visited twice on the 3rd floor of a Plaza in Colonia Centro Ciudad de Mexico was simply perfect!
The food, the service and the cervezas were super palatable. I ate lots of pozole while my friends had tacos and some huge empanadas or enchiladas, I guess that's how they call them.
We got four different types of "chile picante" boy they were deadly good and the chicharrones...you must go. They prices are super affordable.
I dont know exactly the location of the store we visited but is near by the historical distric right in the heart of Ciudad de Mexico. Our server was Roberto, he was super nice and one noticeable thing about him was his kindness we he realized we were from Costa Rica and USA he took time to explain what was...
