Salón Corona Madero — Restaurant in Mexico City

Don’t come here if you plan on eating. They had one person receive their food after 15 minutes, another after 20, and the rest of our party just didn’t receive our food. After waiting almost an hour, the waiter was polite enough to notify us that they had run out of fish. We placed new orders and proceeded to wait for 30 more minutes. The nachos are served cold with cheese whiz, the shrimp tempura is fried until it is hard enough to use as a golf ball, and the soup is served at room temperature. The only edible thing at this restaurant was the ceviche, which was good. As I am writing this, I am currently waiting for a shrimp tempura taco I ordered almost two hours ago, and have had to order twice. The fact that this restaurant remains in business is quite honestly a blessing from God himself. Atmosphere was good, food was good,drinks were big nice and cold... service not so much. Server had to come, not once but twice to take our order and then when food came out we were missing some items. No big deal considering the tacos were bigger than we thought. The salsas the brought out when we got there looked like they were old and had a funky smell, we just skipped them altogether. Place was clean. Fue demasiado desagradable! Suelo ir regularmente al salón Corona, el que frecuento casi siempre es el que está sobre Madero, esta vez quise probar en la sucursal de Gante… en todos los alimentos que solicité… se notaba un descuido en la calidad de los alimentos. Pedimos una orden para compartir de pastor, unos pedazos de piña insípidos por completo, las tortillas para acompañar… mal calentadas, muy posiblemente solo las calentaron en el horno de microondas, se partían totalmente al intentar hacer un taco. Pedimos dos aguas de horchata, nos las dieron sin hielo y estaban tibias. Un cóctel de camarón del cual el sabor no era nada sobresaliente, catsup y agua, unos trozos de jitomate partidos en media rodaja… ni siquiera en cubos, el aguacate negro. Y lo que ya hizo ridículamente desagradable la experiencia fue… que me dieran en un recipiente cebolla y cilantro del cual me entregaron con la raíz y la tierra, no habían lavado el cilantro… toqué un par de hojas del mismo y se quedó la tierra en mis dedos, claro que no lo comí! Y el colmo… la mesera se llevó el recipiente de la cebolla y el cilantro… lo miró un instante y solo tiró la raíz del cilantro y regresó el recipiente a la barra para ponerlo en otro servicio de otra mesa. TERRIBLEMENTE DESAGRADABLE esta visita! Jamás visitaré esta sucursal.

He visitado la sucursal de Madero muchísimas veces y siempre ha sido un servicio bastante agradable y los alimentos muy ricos. Pero en Gante definitivamente fue una experiencia...
