It could have easily been 5 stars but something happened that I totally disliked

We went to this bar twice, it is located a few feet away from our hotel, so it was pretty convenient. The food was pretty good and the draft beer was great. Our waiter was pretty nice so I decided to give him a nice tip.

The second time I took my parents and some friends. They brought a broken beer mug to my dad. You could easily see the broken glass. This time the food was not that good and on top of that, the waiter at this time said, I want to remind you that the tip is not included in the final bill, which I thought was a little rude.

I hope you guys have a better experience than ours at this bar.

By the way, the Corona Tacos was phenomenal, that's what we got...

We are here in Mexico City on vacation. We ran into this place at the last minute. It was good, the server was great and friendly, the food was good, the atmosphere was good, the bathroom was my least favorite, lol. Anyhow, We just ordered 5 al pastor tacos and like 2 skirt steak tacos. Definitely liked the al pastor tacos better. It is what they are known for is their al pastor. The arranchera taco didn't really have any flavor, the hot sauces were good. The al pastor tacos are the small street style tacos, so you might want to order more than your usual. Overall, the menu is short & simple. It is a good place to make a quick stop or chill and have...

The tacos are just amazing!!! Muy delicioso, full of flavors....this place is heavily frequented by the locals ( so you know the food is good) the prices are pretty reasonable for a spot that's right in the middle of the historical center and a bunch of touristic attractions. They also have a wide selections of craft beer on Tap ( if that's your thing.... The people in there were raving about them) ...i usually eat tacos from the street vendors but i definitely found a new go to spot for lunch of just a quick bite when im around El Centro histórico. CHECK IT...

I went around noon and the place was almost empty, didnt take long for people to start trickling in though. I had the chilaquiles in salsa verde. They come with a side of refried beans and I asked for a bolillo. I've had them several times and chilaquiles here are a hit n miss. At times the salsa is mild and others a bit too hot. Overall the place is a classic visit if you are downtown. Try the tacos Al pastor and have a nice cold beer(they have it on tap). Come alone or with friends, the experience is always good. They accept cash and card payment. Enjoy.

At nearly 90 years of age and counting, Salón Corona is truly an Oasis in the heart of Mexico City. Founded in 1928, it's one of the most authentic and traditional cantinas / casual restaurants in town. The perfect spot to take a break and enjoy good beer and quick bites during your expeditions to the very heart of Mexico City. You can't miss Salón Corona in your next visit!
