La Chicha Roma — Restaurant in Mexico City

Nice decor, rude management (standard staff are nice). I've changed my tune. Never saw this place as a restaurant, but it is listed as such on google. The management are still uptight and could do with relaxing a little bit... I've worked in busier restaurants than this and this place shouldn't get so worked up. But theres a confusion on what La Chicha is. It looks more like a nice looking boutique bar than a restaurant. The kitchen is tiny and the set up is too lounge-y for a restaurant. Perhaps if they had a bar area (and even a draft available ) they could avoid unpleasant exchanges with punters looking to have a quiet drink in...

La Chicha was a cool, local restaurant that was only a block away from our hostel with great food. Customer service was excellent. To start, we shared an apple and goat cheese salad. It was nice getting a generous portion of veggies and fruit in. Our main meals were tacos arracheras and tacos cochinita pibil. We enjoyed the cochinita pibil tacos a bit more, but both were good choices. We tried the cheesecake for dessert and noticed it was a bit stronger on the cream cheese taste/texture than what we were used to, but the ice cream and other flavors were delicious. This place was good, but the service was subpar the day we went. There were 5 of us. We were given a table outside by a gentleman. Then a different woman told us we couldn't sit there. Then it was cleared up and we were able to sit there. Then we were asked to move inside to a much smaller spot where there really wasn't enough room for 5. The drinks were good but not great.
