Read moreA TOTAL DISASTER OF A RESTAURANT: For personal reasons, my partner and I were visiting this restaurant to hear the violinist play. We made a booking and sent the restaurant a message on Facebook to confirm the violinist would be there. The reply we received was slightly unclear, so we sent another message on Facebook, to confirm the violinist would be there. We did not receive a reply. We then sent a message directly using their email address to ask if we should make a booking for another day. No reply. We then sent another message, asking for them to reply or we would have to telephone to ask if the violinst would be there. No reply again. My partner then telephoned them on the day of the booking - today - to make sure the violinist would be there. She was told he would be. We then travelled thirty minutes to the restaurant, and upon arriving, asked if the violinist would be there. We were told he would start playing at 8.30pm, and we had arrived at 8pm. We took our seats... and five minutes later the waiter returned to say the violinist was on holiday that day. We left immediately. What an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE. They completely wasted our time and our money due to their appalling communication, their dishonesty or simple incompetence. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS...
Read moreResturent was recommended by the hotel. Upon arrival we were amazed by the Ambiance. Beautiful and well decorated in French style. Dining room is upstairs and the area is well decorated with stylish chandeliers. Then the problem began. We realized, no one there speaks English and rhet did not have English menu. just Spanish all around. I was very surprised! in this day and age, I did not expect this Finally, a waiter with minimal English skills, recommended some dishes. Ended up eating a Duck dish and wife stuck to Steak with black pepper sauce.Duck was poorly cooked and lacked salt but I could not explain to anyone. We maintained our cool. Chocolate Souffle was fine and that kept the mood going. We were very dissatisfied with meal and inability to communicate. French meals are often discussed and paired with appropriate wines. That was not possible due to communication gap. I recommend if they want foriegn customers, have an English speaking person and english menu. Meal was expensive, communication would have.made things better...
