My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our shrimp pad Thai and tofu red curry dishes here. Though the pad Thai was just a little sweet for our taste, it was very true to what we had expected based on pad Thai we had had in Thailand. Even so, I expect that to others the level of sweetness may be just right. The noodles were the right kind and the veggies and tofu in the curry were good and fresh, as well. Properly cooked Asian rice made it well worth the visit. We’ll likely return while we’re in the city.
We went back again today and, once again, really enjoyed our food. I will say, however, that we were disappointed with the mango sticky rice dessert. We specifically asked if the rice they use is authentic Thai sticky rice. Assured that it is, we placed our order. Unfortunately it most definitively is not the variety of rice used in Thailand. Rather, it is the California rice (I saw a huge bag of it in the hallway after noticing at the first bite that the rice was the wrong kind) so highly prized by lovers of Japanese rice—absolutely not appropriate for this dish. The condensed milk mixed with coconut milk was also not quite right—perhaps just not enough coconut milk. While I still highly recommend this restaurant, anyone expecting the “real thing” for Thai sticky rice with mango is bound to be quite disappointed, though the dish was reasonably tasty as...
Read moreThis place is simple with fair to say Thai flavor in a cheap presentation. -Tables are in a small place some of them you will fill in a narrow place, decoration is something "unique" with vibrant colors. -Service by waitress is rushed, they do not make you feel in a place you are welcome, they just try to have the order and go to the next table, with few knowledge of their plates or at least not interested in give some suggestions. -Food, this could be where they get the better to be a good place, falvor is fair good but they use in the curry the cheapest and not the most flavorful vegetables, it has lots of onion, they do not use squash less zucchini, no sweet tomato, no bell pepper, they need to improve more than onion (again it was a lot), carrot and potatoes. Dessert, I know it is a sticky rice but it was like a burned tight rice ball. There are better options in town for Thai food, may be you are lucky here or if you are in Thai mood and close by, give it a chance otherwise do not waste your time...
Read moreSheesh, we visited with high hopes but it was unpleasant from arrival. The waiter that evening was fairly dismissive with no remote hospitality that remained throughout the dinner. My wife politely asked if he had any hand sanitizer and he swiftly said no, only for us to see a huge bottle right on their counter.
Truthfully, this would not have been an issue if the food were not also utterly dissatisfying. The shrimp spring rolls had fresh cut vegetables but little to zero shrimp present. We both ordered "pad thai" in hopes of a decent version of the staple dish, but it was abjectly terrible. The noodles seemed of cheap quality, the chicken was bland, the overall dish was wet from excess fish sauce, and I could not even keep the plate in front of me because of the foul odor from this excess fish sauce. We are easygoing diners and love Thai food, but the noodle dishes and overall dining experience made this a completely...
