WAITED 1 HOUR FOR FOOD!!! 😡
Arrived at Tandoor and asked if I could ask the chef to make a potato dish (from back home), they said no the chef wasn’t “allowed” to leave the kitchen. I said ok no problem can I write it on a paper snd you can ask if he can do it. They sent the paper and came back saying the owners don’t LET him make anything from off of the menu.
I proceed to order off the menu and am still sitting here waiting for my food. I received the appetizer (veg samosa which hardly had any taste) after 40 minutes. Still no entrees . It’s been ONE HOUR!! I’ve checked several times for how much longer it’ll be and they keep saying it’s almost ready. The restaurant is hardly full. One other couple upstairs with me, and only two tables downstairs occupied.
Only reason I’m still waiting is I’m diabetic and my sugars are low so really need some food in my body.
UPDATE: After an hour I finally got my food. I asked for Indian spicy and they added a slice of jalapeño on top 😂😂
Mattar paneer tasted good and paneer was really fresh and waiters were nice.
Go somewhere else.
Extreme amount of oil in the parathas… it’s not poori to be deep fried. Food became cold quick 🧐
Uncle (owners) walked passed me a couple times and didn’t even check in or greet.
Ate as much as I needed to to take my meds but nothing more. Throughly...
Read moreThe 2 stars are for the ambience and service which are alright. For the food, I would give zero if I could. All I can imagine is that the chef is away on vacation and they are still running the place. We ordered vegetarian dishes and I cant comment on meat. The starter of samosa papri chat was not too bad, although small. The platter of complimentary chutneys were all watery and flavourless. The mango lassi as well as the red fruits lassi were watery and sour. The nans were bearable but rather small. Saving the worst for the last... the shahi paneer! The paneer was first of all not paneer at all... some local cheese that looked a bit like paneer but tasted nowhere close to it! And the gravy was indeed a blasphemy to what shahi paneer should be. There was no hint of tomato, yoghurt, almond cashew paste or cream that it should be made of. Instead a brown goo that tasted of nothing, probably made from thickening a gravy or stock cube. The portion size was small but that did not matter as we could hardly eat even half of it despite being hungry. We had planned to but refrained from ordering dessert afraid what that would be like! The prices are not too expensive for the location , might even be labelled as reasonable if only the taste of...
Read moreWorst Indian food I’ve ever had, ever. And I’m from India.
Hopefully this is not what passes for Indian food around here.
I got shahi paneer, garlic naan, butter naan, malai paneer samosas, and basmati rice. Shahi paneer had a strange and bitter after-taste (almost mango-like but not quite), and tasted nothing like how it should; far from it, actually. The naans were definitely not freshly made. They weren’t even naans. You can get packaged ones (even at Costco) that are of a similar style but even those are significantly better. The garlic on the garlic naan was extremely burnt, and didn’t even taste or smell of garlic. The samosas were wrapped in what felt like wonton wrap, and extremely fried. The stuffing was passable, at best, and that’s only because of how terrible the rest of the food was. The basmati rice was not even close to basmati rice; it was more like brown rice. And had a weird/strange smell and taste to it. I try and never throw food but I could not consume any of it beyond a bite or two to taste it.
I ordered having looked at and read the raving reviews, and I just could not believe it. I’ll never be ordering...
