I would definitely recommend visiting this rusty (dirt floors) but nevertheless cozy restaurant serving vegetarian (& not) good, wood-fired pizza, & a large variety of pies. The restaurant also features live music playing Mexican tunes. We didn't try any of their pizzas. Instead, i chose pozole de pollo, which was quite tasty. It was complimented with two types of salsa and a variety of spices such as oregano or paprika as well as onions. The poole de pongo had radish, lettuce, & avocado as well as chicken served as a large portion. I appreciate the opportunity to being able to flavor the pozole to my taste rather than chef's , which made my dinner more enjoyable. We finished our meals with two slices of their pie (variety of nuts and dulce de lecce), which were delicious. I also ordered a mango margarita that was mixed with a brand of tequila i had never had before. It was good but tasted differently. Restaurant patrons seemed to me as being local ( not tourists) but i might be wrong as it is kind of difficult to guess if you don't speak Spanish. The reason i am mentioning it is that i consider restaurants visited by locals as a good place to go for meals while traveling instead of the ones catering to tourists. To conclude, if you are in Zipolite, check this restaurant out for delicious food, friendly service,...
Read moreThe most accommodating place in all of Zipolite. My girlfriend and I eat very consciously so we asked a ton of questions about the food. The lady that served us did her absolute best to answer all of our questions and she was genuinely nice about the whole experience. She really really likes pit when people are served well in her restaurant. The food there is amazing, everything is cooked in a wood-fire oven that just gives all of the food an amazing taste. Special shout out to Carlos the main Chef, he is so kindhearted, knowledgable and just a great person all around. I would go back to this place time and time again. Even though I had a cheese overload and I pledged to myself not to eat cheese anymore. They have very limited Vegan and gluten free options, but they really try to accomodate even the...
Read moreThis place is so adorable. It could actually be really chic if they stayed away from fluorescent lighting. There’s murals of naked ladies all around which is wild, and weird, and pretty cool. It has an extensive vegetarian menu, the soups are great, the pizza can be dry. There’s often live music, and there seems to always be kinda empty which is puzzling to me. It’s just the kind of environment you want on a Mexican retreat, but I guess most people prefer the hustle-bustle of the Main...
