Los Angeles Hotel Rancho los Mangos — Hotel in Oaxaca

For about 10 years my wife and I have gone to Rancho los Mangos in Zipolite, Mexico, for parts of the New England winter, looking for peace and quiet; first with our camper, lately by plane, renting one of the Rancho's apartments. No more. Now, a deaf/mute worker uses noisy motorized equipment indiscriminately. A leaf blower is used inefficiently for hours in a fashion where half an hour of use could be effectively accomplished in 5 minutes of raking. An edge trimmer is used for hours as de facto lawn mower on a multi acre property where grass and weeds grow fast and abundantly. On December 20, 2014, the property was rented to a wedding party that came with its own music installation, large enough for a Woodstock type gathering. When by 5:30 AM, after a sleepless night of ear shattering noise, I asked both property management and the owner of the sound installation to call it a night I was met with refusal. This was after an hour of Karaoke type performances by besotted remnants of the wedding party. In addition, the once well functioning WiFi is now overloaded by continuous use by property management, resulting in a very slow connection that disengages randomly and frequently. Don't get hung up on old 2014-15 reviews. Rancho Los Mangos is a first class RVpark. The striking architecture of the adjoining Rancho Los Angeles Hotel sets a luxurious tone for your stay here. Thanks to a creative-thinking staff, we made it through the gates only hours before the virus lockdown in Zipolite. So, we're trapped in paradise! Yes, life is a beach. Our RV site is like a movie set ... stone-tiled space, long and wide, nestled in s mango grove with coconut palms and tropical, flowering trees and bushes; close to banos with showers and a huge swimming pool; clean, beautiful grounds and walkways to gates that open into the artsy, surfer town that we're looking forward to enjoying more when the lockdown ends. The wide, sandy beach is known for its nude strollers, awesome surf, and casual restaurants. Convenient cab service to drop you off in neighboring villages of Puerto Angel, Mizunte, and San Augustinillo. Of course, it's hot and humid -- but not like the reports we read about online. El martirio comenzó desde la reservación, ya que después de pagar un adelanto del 50 % los supuestos gerentes olvidaron apartar mis habitaciones, dado su error, lo enmendaron ofreciendo un bungalow para cuatro personas al mismo precio, el cual está bien. Aceptamos y durante los primeros días de mi estancia puedo decir que el lugar es muy bonito, jardines bien cuidados y las habitaciones razonablemente bien. Dos días antes de terminar nuestra estancia llego más gente al lugar y en el bongalow de alado se instalaron unos chavos muy ruidosos y alcohólicos, por su forma de beber no es de mi incumbencia, pero si por el ruido que no dejaron de hacer desde su llegada a las 3 am, utilizando una bocina a todo volumen, no respetando a los demás y usándola día y noche a un volumen espantoso. Un día antes de volver, me queje con los supuestos gerentes, explicándoles que yo había ido para descansar y tener paz y tranquilidad y que tenía que dormir porque me tenía que salir del hotel a las 4 am porque tenía que manejar una distancia considerable, a lo cual respondieron que ya habían hecho algo al respecto, sin hacer el cuento más largo, la noche anterior de mi partida, los chavos (niños mal criados y sin educación) no dejaron de hacer ruido en ningún momento, de hecho esa noche no dormí en lo absoluto. En más de una ocasión en el transcurso de la noche fui a quejarme con los gerentes, pero ellos no lograron hacer nada, demostrando ineptitud en manejar la situación y argumentando cosas como “ellos también pagaron y tienen derecho a divertirse” o “ya no suena tanto” hasta donde yo sé, todo hotel tiene reglas estrictas en donde queda claro que está prohibido hacer ruido a partir de cierta hora (por lo general a la hora que se cierra la alberca).
