Zapotic — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Just to start off I would not recommend coming here.

The menu is very limited. Of course the menu is catered to tourist. They served half of us first, about half an hour later served the other half of our food.

We ordered the octopus and ribeye. The octopus was mildly seasoned. Did not cut well. Sides was just a salad. For the ribeye, the cut was NOT ribeye. Quality of the meet was not good. Taste was mom and pop at best, on the side of basic norms/dennys flavor. I definitely could cook a better ribeye. All the above would be more tolerable however the food was expensive. Would not come here unless you want to pay exorbitant price for mediocre food.

Atmosphere okay live band.. Not my cup of tea but I can’t fault the restaurant for that. Because the restaurant is outdoors not the best for hot or rainy days. The service was okay however this is expected for this price point. Server did disappear towards the end of the meal. Took a very long time to obtain the check.

Lastly, had a random dog that was barking at me during the meal asking for food. Used to this in Mexico but just did not...

The worst service I ever experienced! What made it the worst service expierence was how rude the waiter was to us. Nobody was greeting us as we approached the place and searched for a table. After ordering we asked if we could switch to a better table. The waiter said „ok“ and openly rolled his eyes at us. Every other contact with him was cold and with no glimpse of hospitality. The food came and was okay, but we later discovered that my boyfriends fish was still partly raw. After asking our waiter about it he just took the plate without saying a word and brought it back with the rest of the fish being all smashed up and almost burned. The whole time the waiter seemed really passive aggressive. After getting the cheque we didn’t want to give any tip. Afterwards we discovered that the waiter put in a 10% tip in the machine anyways without us noticing. All in all I cannot recommend going there unless you like people being...

Place is pretty. Live music was depressing but that isnt their fault.

Now, i ordered a medium rare cowboy beef , for 700mxn this is SHAMEFUL. Overcooked, full of nerves and pure fat. I tried to eat it and ended up most serving it to the dogs that walk around.

When i complained to the manager, this lady is clueless of client relationship or anything related to restaurant management. Rude, clueless and greedy. I kindly requested her to take the meat back for the kitchen to look on it and left me 25min, with hunger and only came saying a discount would be made and didnt propose me anything to eat or a simple courtesy. I complained again and she left me hunged again.
