Went with my family to this place for the first time. We were fine to rent the beds and space, pay their price and consume drinks and food. We were service by one guy at first who told us no drinks were allowed at the area (we were carrying and small esky), we were fine for them to put it away for us and we got told we could keep the water and coke out. After one minute of the server taking away the esky, a lady server approach is saying we couldn’t have the water and coke. We had no issue, so we just requested her to ask the other guy to bring the esky to put them in with our other drinks away. This lady was very rude from the start, very arrogant and had no customer service attitude whatsoever. We hand in everything and it seem she was not satisfied, she kept coming at us accusing us of having drinks in our beach bags and saying she saw us putting them there. I didn’t appreciate the accusation and told her there were clothes and towels. She kept saying the same thing so I told her to check them herself, I drop all the bags from the beds so she could search whatever she needed to. She reacted offended and aggressive, after accusing us again of having hidden drinks. My sister had to interfere in the discussion and took all the things out of the bags in front of her all over the sand. This lady then said she wanted us to leave as they would not attend us with that attitude. Honestly we left, no worries. In my opinion, it was very disappointing to see a person in a service position with a very rude attitude, the proper way could have been to just ask to search any bags to confirm without accusing customers without evidence, and not lying by saying she saw us putting drinks in our bags. After this experience, I would never recommend this area/spot to anyone and after reading multiple reviews even worse; well…. A place like this with bad higiene, overpriced, abusing customers, and the most unpleasant customer service should never be allowed to operate for the public. Glad we didn’t fight to stay lol…. We avoided getting drinks with sweaty balls and armpits flavour. LOL. Good luck guys! Not sure how long a business like this will last. Maybe you need to change...
Read moreCame here in early April 2023 during height of Spring break. So, we expected to pay a hefty price for any/everything that is in high demand, so we were expecting those prices. $1150mxp per person (our child was free) for three lounge chairs and umbrellas, with $1000mxp each back for food and drink credit ($2000mxp credit). That was fine, but the bill came at the end (though we paid up front) and the bill said around 350 pesos more as a "service fee". Totally understandable they would ask for a tip, no worries.
Our waiter did not speak English (or so I thought) and when I asked "is that the tip?" he said "no, it is service fee". I gave him $500 and asked for $150 back, he said "tip for me?"
I said "The $350 is the tip?" He said, "No, not tip, tip extra."
Being a friendly person, I smiled and said I don't understand Spanish and walked over to the person in charge, who did speak English. The waiter tried to say "it was ok, it was ok", but I smiled and said I wanted to give him the correct tip. The main person said that there was a service charge which is a suggested tip, but the waiter wanting $350 over that "should not happen, should never happen". The manager asked me to point out the person who served us, but surprisingly, he was nowhere to be seen.
No worries, I didn't push it, and the over/double charging is a common thing, just want other travelers to be aware that this happens here and that the service charge is optional, as well as the "double...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at the beach club. We had Brian and another waiter and they were great. We were here to celebrate both mine and my partners birthdays and they were so wonderful, always checking in on us, super friendly. The food was amazing as well as the drinks and the prices were reasonable (We had just come from Tulum where they charge a fortune for everything). We were given menus with clear prices on them and the bill was exactly what I'd expected with no surprises, there is a tip included which we'd planned to give anyway however I understand some people don't understand this is usually added.
Two beds and an umbrella were 2300 pesos, with 2000 of that going towards consumption and it was an easy spend for us, we went above and paid the difference plus tip. You also have access to the showers, bathrooms and pool (We didn't use these though we just swam in the ocean) The beach chairs were in a good condition.
If the weather the next day wasn't heavily raining, we would have gone back. There was music from next door playing you...
