I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Freshy Fish in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and overall, I had a great experience! Although the whole fish was a bit dry and over cooked, the flavors were still fresh and delicious. The wait staff was a bit slow, but they were always courteous and attentive to my needs. The atmosphere was a great laidback, chill vibe and the live DJ added a fun touch to the dining experience.
What I loved most about The Freshy Fish was its location, just a few feet away from Mamita's Beach. The restaurant has a great outdoor seating area with a walkway that walks up to the ocean with a beachy feel that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Despite some of the small issues I had with the food and service, I would still highly recommend The Freshy Fish to anyone looking for a nice dining experience in Playa Del Carmen. The location, atmosphere, and overall vibe make it a great spot to unwind and enjoy some delicious seafood. I give The Freshy Fish a 4.0 star rating and I can't wait to...
Read moreThis place had the best food on our entire trip. The servers were friendly and attentive. I see a lot of reviews about them adding tip to the bill and then asking for tip, but with a quick google search we realized that the additional percentage included on the bill is a tourist tax. If you plan to come here I would advise to bring/pay in Pesos as there was some confusion when we tried to pay part USD and part pesos. The staff thought we owed more but I was able to show them with a calculator that we indeed did not and actually paid more than the bill. Also, the conversion rate on the beach may not be as current as other places. All in all, the food was amazing (best tacos for our whole trip and best burger as well) and I would return but wouldn’t try to use USD for the reasons above. I deducted a star because of the issues we had with payment and how long it took to...
Read moreWe were lucky enough to get there when the band started playing, great music with impromptu dancing. The service on both food and drinks was slow, but id like to attribute it to fresh cooking and mixed drinks made from scratch. The food and drinks were delicious tho. The highlight for me was the octopus tacos..best ive ever tasted. Simple yet So flavorful. They also have like 5 different sauces n salsas to put on your food. All amazing. The cantaritos were my favorite. Lost count on how many we ordered. The restaurant is not high end by any means. So if you're looking for fancy table service look elsewhere. This is a beach dive. This establishment also only has one restroom (gender neutral) but looked/smelled resonably clean. Compared to other sea food places in the touristy area this was reasonably priced. If in the playa del carmen area i would...
