Sabor de Libano (Saveur du Liban) — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

I just had lunch there with my partner and we were honestly blown away by the food. We’re originally from Montreal just like the owner and we have plenty of experience eating this kind of food; this was way superior to the usual Lebanese food I’ve eaten. My partner even worked in a Lebanese restaurant in Egypt and he was saying he hasn’t had Lebanese this good since those days 20 years ago!

Issam the owner and Rudy were awesome hosts and it also was a real pleasure to talk with them. We had 3 different manouches (a Lebanese pizza of sorts) and the shish taouk sandwich. Great authentic Lebanese food. I had the falafel pita sandwich with grilled falafels (a healthier twist, though the classic fried option is also available), and it was incredibly fresh and delish. I also tried the saj (a smaller version of manouche) with za’atar and cheese, it was packed with flavour. The decor is simple and unpretentious, but the space is immaculately clean. Incredible food, even better people

Sabor de Líbano was one of the best surprises of my trip to Playa del Carmen. It’s a truly authentic, family-owned spot — and you feel that from the second you walk in. The owners are amazing people who treat you like family, and the service is honestly 10/10.

The food? Absolutely unreal. I had the shawarma with hummus and tabbouleh — everything tasted homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell it’s cooked with love and tradition.
