La Trattoria da Mauri Tulum — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

I went to La Trattoria on Friday August 20 at 7:43pm. I informed the waiter and waitress I knew what I want to order and I wanted to place the order right away. I also informed the short/glasses individual that he can bring any food as soon as it is done. Then my friend order his food 10 minutes after me. About 5 minutes after my friend ordered his food, a brand new couple sat across from us. Long story short, the couple ended up getting their food before us. We had to wait close to 45-50 minutes to get our. When I asked the same man (short, fat, glasses guy) why did the couple that arrives about 15 after us got their food before us, he first argued that they had Not being there after us, I told him the opposite. Then he stated that the food is being cook in order it was received. Which I highlighted that I told him that I want any food to come out as soon as possible..... Also, for the calamari, other than just lime, no other sauce was offered. I will definitely...

Horrible experience. We went there yesterday, ordered Ravioli with Sage, Fussili with Basil and Pines Pesto and a Pizza Vegetariana, all ‚habdmade‘. First we had to wait 45min (!) during a terrible drunk ‚band‘ was screaming Mexican songs in an unmelodic way and way too loud so no one clapped when they finished one song. Then the bad surprise: waitress who hardly understood one word Englisch informed us Pizza (which we ordered 45min ago) was SOLD OUT at 9 PM ???? instead brought 2x Ravioli which we cancelled. Pasta was al dente, Pesto was just canned, cheap, not freshly made and Fussili was definitely not handmade either. Ravioli was okay but both portions were MINIATURE and 11$/€ each. Would never come again or recommend you to...

We broke a golden rule by trying a place that has pictures on the menu, and were we happy we did. What a pleasant surprise. This was genuinely one of our favourite meals in Tulum. Excellent pasta. We ordered the fresh pasta with the Norma and Arrabiata.. both delicious, served with the fresh Tagliatelle and the Tagliationi... Absolutely perfect. Highly recommended. Reading the other reviews, I disagree about it being expensive.. yes the pasta portions are Primi portions so not huge, but for 160-180 pesos - who's complaining... Coffee was...
