Xibalbar — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

This place is the biggest scam… as soon as they see tourist everything changes. The lady working in the front outside told us there was a $25usd cover charge or we had to buy a bottle. We explain that we just wanted to sit and smoke hookah and we were okay paying the cover fee since we didn’t want to drink. I paid $100 for me and my friends to get in as soon as we went upstairs they told us that we couldn’t sit down but we had to sit at the bar if we wanted to smoke but that wasn’t explained to us. The couple next to was sitting down smoking hookah with no bottle. Keep in mind they kept sending us people who only spoke Spanish until we went downstairs back to the lady who spoke English and told her they weren’t letting us sit down at a booth and her whole mood changed. All of her words changed she wasn’t giving us our money back we were in there for about 3 minutes when all we wanted was to leave. She kept the line locked so we couldn’t leave until the men that were with us got really loud and she let us out. Verbal words were exchanged that weren’t nice back-and-forth we ended up just walking away as we were walking away and telling them we were going to leave reviews. As soon as we said we were leaving reviews she chasing us down the street and hands me the hundred dollars and says that we didn’t need to be disrespectful. I wish I could leave ten stars!!! This was by far the BEST roof top bar experience we had in all of Tulum! They played the best music we’ve heard in the whole city and everyone was dancing all over the place! Excellent roof top bar! Great views of Tulum, great food and outstanding customer service.

We found this place on Tulum ave and we were very pleased with the quality of the cocktails, the food although limited was very tasty, fresh and great prices.

The ambiance is very lively, they play american top 40 music.
