I visited this New York-style deli with high expectations, and my experience was a mix of hits and misses, earning it a solid 4 stars. Its expensive! $325 for one sandwich, I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which was described as having Swiss cheese but came with Manchego instead. While the pastrami was flavorful and well-prepared, making the sandwich enjoyable overall, the cheese swap was a bit disappointing as I was craving that classic Reuben taste. The pickle served alongside was also unexpectedâdifferent from the typical cucumber pickles Iâm used to, with tiny seeds and an unusual but not unpleasant flavor. It was a bit jarring for a New York-style deli.
My wife had the brisket and cheese sandwich, which also listed Swiss cheese on the menu but arrived with Manchego. Unfortunately, she didnât enjoy it at allâthe brisket was dry, and she found the flavor off, which was a letdown. Sheâs not eager to return.
Despite these issues, I found my sandwich tasty enough to warrant another visit to try something else on the menu. The deli has a great vibe and clear potential, but for a place billing itself as New York-style, Iâd love to see them nail the classic flavors and...

A critical component of a standout is service. Sol is my favorite waitress in SMA. A warm friendly smile, she's attentive and engaged. Yes, I've been here many times and she's consistently on point. Bonus, she speaks English.

Kudos to Deli District ⢠NY Style 1960 for the most beautiful presentation in a shallow bowl of my favorite Mexican breakfast dish.
My two favorite breakfast plates are the Full Yankee and the Popeye (name's been changed to Vegetarian) which is an omelette chauk full of spinach, mushrooms, onions & tomatoes.
Last, but certainly not least, is affable owner, Isaac. He says hello to all tables and if there were ever anything wrong with anything - never for me - he'd be prompt to correct it.

Read moreI had a delicious pastrami sandwich, on the Deli's special. The flavors were spot-on, with tender, perfectly done pastrami with melted cheese and layered generously on fresh, thin bread with polish mustard. It came with fries and a pickle, oh yes and cole slaw. My husband had the egg salad sandwich. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience. The deli reminded me of a classic New York City deli, it was all perfect. The music was good and we enjoyed everything about this small spot. We definitely will be back, to try the Matzah Ball Soup, the Reuben Sandwich and The Blintzes just to name a few of the items on their menu. The environment is bright and clean. They have been open for 1 month and are knocking it out...
