Mkay usually I trust y'all's reviews, but this was a fail, folks. Through a series of unfortunate events, I and my digestive system just needed a good steak with a view, alone with my thoughts. They have only two tables with a view to the sea, but it's not a good one. The ferry dock blocks the sunset. And the current sewer upgrade project made it smell SO BAD, so I said it was too hot and asked to move inside. I heard from a local that they are working their way south on this sewer upgrade, so hopefully soon these shops/restaurants on the north end of the touristic area will be free of this problem, and benefit from the upgraded system.
The service was ok. My waiter was actually very nice, and honest about the dishes he liked and didn't like. He said don't get the street corn. So I didn't. He comes from Mexico City and the street corn at this restaurant is absolutely not what it is supposed to taste like. He also did not recommend the margaritas but I got a pomegranate one anyway, and it was very good. But he didn't come back when I had no more liquids to consume.
But then he brings me "chips" in something like a hot pad?? Picture that you put your hand inside a mit to remove something from the oven. It's not washed often. But now there are chips inside that you are meant to retrieve and eat. Old, stale, hard as a rock. Yes I did attempt to eat them anyways. My very nice waiter saw my distress and brought me some fresh ones, which were very good. He admitted those were from yesterday. But also why did I even trust something inside a thick, fabric, unwashed pouch?? So bizarre. I've been traveling the Yukatan for 3 weeks and haven't seen chips served in a vessel like this.
I ordered the ribeye and it was mediocre at best. I choked it down. The veggies were pretty good I guess, especially the zucchini. But basically not the satisfying steak dinner I sought.
Lastly, they had something like MTV playing, with hard rock and hair bands... Loudly... White snake, Metalica, etc. absolutely did not fit the 5pm nice steak restaurant...

Read moreThis is Reuben from ReubenE's Parodies on TikTok and Facebook. My wife and I were here in Cozumel celebrating 20 years of marriage and 27 years of being together. La Inombrable was recommended to us and did not disappoint. First we were seated on the balcony with a breathtaking view of the sunset. Then Luis our waiter was so friendly and helped us navigate the best of what La Inombrable had to offer. He and his fellow team members treated us like royalty throughout the night. We started with the rib-eye chicharron guacamole and cheese dip with shrimp. The assortment of salsa complemented each appetizer. It was delicious to say the least. We then had the rib-eye barbacoa, tuna carnitas over guacamole, mashed potatoes with garlic and oaxacan cheese, and the mac and cheese with creamy coriander sauce. My wife and I shared each of these dishes for an orchestra of flavors that danced on our tastebuds. Then we saw the carajillo being made at the table next to us and we knew we had to have one. Eric, the manager of the restaurant, took the time and explained what the drink was made with and also made the drink for us right at our table. He then recommended their chocolate molten cake for dessert to complement the drink. While each complemented one another, they would have been amazing on their own as well. We thought this was the perfect send off for an amazing anniversary dinner but once Luis heard it was our anniversary, he and the staff along with the manager delivered a their special carrot cake with a sparkler candle dancing it's flames in the air. My wife and I thanked Eric, Luis and anyone else who worked at the restaurant we saw for making our anniversary dinner the very best it could have been. We will definitely be back. Thanks everyone at...
