My friend and I have been coming to Cozumel for 30 years now. We are always looking for new places to try each visit. Our friend who lives local on the island recommended Samsara. The atmosphere: very laid back, indoor and outdoor seating. Omar introduced himself, very friendly and attentive.
The restaurant had a very eclectic menu from Japanese, American, french, Italian, Thai to Korean. So much to choose. We ordered cocktails, a Mezcal Sour which was excellent and a Margarita. We ended up choosing the Spring Rolls, the Rib-Eye Tacos and Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp.
So to start off the portions are big, presentation was very nice. The Spring Rolls were excellent. I actually wanted the Pad Thai but due to shipment problems they did not have Rice noodles, so we opted for the Fettuccine Alfredo which was good. The Rib-Eye Tacos portions were big but the actually meat lacked in any flavor. I would of liked to try the Sushi rolls but I'm a traditionalist, cream cheese in any roll is a no for me.
I think this place is a definite try and see and taste for yourself. Service and cocktails were excellent and the...
Read moreOur experience at Samsara Cozumel was beyond disappointing. The food was shockingly bad—flavorless, poorly cooked, and not at all worth the price. We were genuinely surprised that a place with such a reputation could serve something so subpar.
To make matters worse, when we complained, they offered us a refund, which initially seemed like an attempt to make things right. However, when we returned to claim it, we were met with complete indifference. We were kept waiting for ages, only to be told that the refund was “no longer valid.” What kind of business operates like this? It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic and wasted even more of our time.
The lack of professionalism and basic customer service was astounding. They didn’t seem to care about making things right or even acknowledging their own promises. It was a frustrating and insulting experience from start to finish.
If you’re in Cozumel, skip Samsara. There are plenty of places on the island that offer much better food and treat their customers with respect. This place isn’t worth the hassle or the...
Read moreIf I could give Samsara Cozumel zero stars, I would. Our visit was an absolute disaster, and it only got worse when we tried to address the issues. The food was, to put it bluntly, awful. Bland, poorly prepared, and overpriced—truly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
After voicing our complaints, we were offered a refund, which seemed like a reasonable attempt to make amends. But when we went in to claim it, they completely wasted our time. First, we were made to wait without explanation, only to be told that the refund “wasn’t valid anymore.” Seriously? Why even offer it in the first place if you had no intention of honoring it?
The staff was unprofessional and dismissive, showing no accountability or empathy for the situation. Instead of resolving the issue, they left us feeling frustrated and disrespected.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are far better dining options in Cozumel—ones where you won’t have to deal with bad food AND worse customer service. Samsara Cozumel is a complete joke. Save your time,...
