Coco Unlimited was everything we were looking for, and so much more. Hands down Tulum was our most enjoyable vacation yet, and choosing this hotel was such a big part of that experience. Every member of staff is genuinely warm and friendly; Cris, Juan, Patricio, Orlando, Gerardo, Felix, and everyone at Coco Unlimited, we cannot thank you enough for your help, and the momentous joy you brought to our time at your hotel!
Located right on the beach, this place is truly sublime. Patches of lush jungle greenery line sandy footpaths that led us to our cozy white beach villa. Inside, we were greeted by a bright, generously spacious room, impeccably clean, and air conditioned. Outside on the balcony, featuring our own private hammock, we enjoyed a stunning view: a peek of the dazzling Caribbean Sea and a verdant cocoon of tropical plants providing plenty of privacy and the perfect perches for local songbirds to add their own music to the accompaniment of ocean waves.
When we were searching for a hotel to book for our trip to Tulum, the two most important deciding factors for us were 1. Beach Front Access and 2. Peace and Quiet. Coco Unlimited gave us the best of both worlds, and more. Our room was a 60 second stroll to the white sand and blue waves of the beach. Each morning, we would take our coffee under one of their cozy covered beach loungers, or on the shaded couches in the sand, before heading into their beach front restaurant for a satisfying complimentary breakfast of fresh fruit with honey, papaya juice, and eggs any way we wanted (though there were a dozen items on that breakfast menu we could have chosen from). A daily breakfast was included with our booking and believe me when I say, Tulum is extremely pricey, you will be so glad to have the most important meal of the day covered (save your time and pesos for dinner or taxis!).
The peace and quiet was absolute bliss, we never had to worry about raging music and wild parties keeping us up all night (and in Tulum, there is no shortage of that… be careful where you book a hotel, because some spots in town or along the beach turn into a rave when the sun goes down - you won’t be disappointed if you book Coco Unlimited!). To be clear, it’s not total silence. The hotel does have speakers set up and you will hear music pour out of the beach front restaurant and onto the beach itself all throughout the day, but the volume is always just right and the sound sets the perfect vibe for a Tulum vaca. In the morning, you’ll hear chill beachy remixes of songs you know and love. As the day wears on, a vibrant electronic tribal dance beat takes over.
Every moment at Coco Unlimited was better than the next. Truly, it’s the people who work at Coco Unlimited that bring this magic to life. Thank you again, we will cherish these memories...
Read moreI loved everything about my stay at Coco Ultd. I really did my homework and decided on this hotel based on its concrete efforts to resolve the situation at the beach for the local community by being one of the hotels that offers free access to the beach. Free onsite parking was a huge factor as well. I was also drawn to the room description of terrace with a jacuzzi. Later I learned that there are two of these rooms but the one that is the best is #26 which sits right on top of the beach. It's an enormous terrace which has two loungers, patio furniture, a hammock, the jacuzzi and is right on the edge of the beach. The room is spacious and beautiful as well, with the sofa sleeping one perfectly well (I went with my son, so he gets the sofa bed and I get the nice bed). The bathroom/shower in the room casually has a window overlooking the ocean. I just cannot get over the spectacular views from the bed and the balcony. Bedding and linens (robes included) were very nice and Wifi excellent throughout the entire hotel. Woke up to the sounds of the waves and the moon and stars fully lighting up the sky. They really make a huge effort to clean the beach and we did not experience any significant sargassum or sargassum smell on October 11 and 12 of 2025. We were able to be on the beach just fine and the beach club has plenty of lounges, beds and couches. Additionally it has a nice little pool with a waterfall. We encountered fabulous services by everyone including the receptionists, the concierge (Guille) and all the staff in the restaurant and bar. A beer will run you 100 pesos which is normal I guess for a beach club but we were informed as guests we could bring our own drinks and snacks on the beach, which was easily done as the hotel sits just 2 km away from 711, Oxxo, an many restaurants. We went to get our fix for dinner and had a blast on the terrace after spending all day in the beach. The jacuzzi was fully functional and a wonderful respite featuring the sound of the ocean. They also offer an amazing cooked to order breakfast FREE! (included in your reservation) We had many options to choose from, including iced latte, fresh exotic juices, and very well presented hot food. I will definitely be back and renting the same room (26) every time. Just a great local stay you can't...
Read moreService was great, location is great right on the beach and close to restaurants, GoMart, and a drug store. Breakfast included is good and food during the day when we were on the beach chairs (included for guests) was also good (e.g. fries, quesabirria tacos). Pool is also nice- it's small but it's fine and it's tucked between trees and close to all rooms. The beach was windy the three days we were here but we still enjoyed it. The sand is the big draw on these beaches and the water was warm enough but from the beaches I have been in my life (e.g., Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Greece, Florida), the water was not as visually pleasing or crystal clear for swimming (maybe this was due to the weather?) Service desk and weight staff are all very helpful. I would say the drinks are a bit pricy (I think a vodka soda was 14$) in my opinion but I think this is just all of Tulum. Suggest bringing your own drinks around most places and only ordering minimally. Our only complaint was that there is no fridge in the rooms. No fridge made our lives a bit more difficult as we had to keep buying ice to fill our hydroflasks and eventually bought a Styrofoam cooler from the GoMart to serve as a fridge that we had to keep replacing with ice each day. Overall, we enjoyed it and we would go back here. From here there is plenty of cenotes Coba, and playa paraiso nearby but we didn't do these because they were closed due to the hurricane that just past during our stay. We rented a car, while we enjoyed having the car, driving here in Tulum is very stressful as the roads are full of huge potholes and huge speed bumps, I mean ridiculously huge speed bumps I have never seen anything like it before, you must come to an almost complete stop. You don't need the car as there are plenty of places walking distance and taxis are everywhere but for us traveling with kids we thought it was better....
