Coco Bar, Food & Sea — Restaurant in Budva

While the waitstaff at this restaurant were kind, the manager acted very rudely.

1. He confiscated my chair's seat cushion and directed me to sit on the bare metal slabs underneath because my swimsuit was damp.

(When I first arrived in my swimsuit, the waitress directed me to the table and never mentioned anything about my attire. Additionally, the table was placed next to the outdoor sand and off to the side of the raised indoor platform, where beachwear is expected. I had no idea swimsuits weren't welcome where I sat. Had I known, I would have been happy to sit elsewhere.)

2. Afterwards, he stopped me from drinking my water bottle insisting I buy one from the restaurant. When I asked if I could order, he wrongly told me I had missed my chance because I had been off swimming.

(That was untrue, and I responded that I had been in the bathroom. I had stepped away for a little while because of a minor health issue. I was originally planning to change into clothes anyways while I was there but had left my dress at the table. When I came back to retrieve it and order before going back to change, that was when he removed the seat cushion.)

3. He began sweeping the floors while I was in the middle of eating my meal.

(When we made eye contact, he said he'd sweep with no dust, but that's not physically possible. I definitely saw plumes of dust near the end of his sweep.)

Go to the Mogren restaurant 10m away instead. They have great service, great food and...

Well, what can we say. Our first time ever visiting Montenegro after a long couple of days of travelling from Australia, we were tired and in need of good food and a smile from a friendly face. We strolled the front beach of Budva, passing restaurant after restaurant, it was difficult to decide where to eat. We then stumbled across “COCO”. From the outset, the setting and venue looked amazing. The romantic candle light tables running along the water, was something we could not pass up. We were swiftly seated and the service was impeccable, unlike other service in Budva. We enjoyed a delicious meal including the beef salad, seafood pasta and seafood risotto. The beef was tender and juicy, and the seafood was fresh and left us wanting more. The drinks were served quickly and cold, again, unlike other venues in Budva that we experienced over our time. At the conclusion of our meal, we had a lovely conversation with the owner who offered us a complementary drink and a good laugh. And here we are again, 3 days later stuck on where to eat dinner, we have found ourselves back at Coco. This time, the lovely owner greeted us with a big smile, and one of the best tables on the pier overlooking the water. Coco is a wonderful, modern and romantic venue that in my opinion is the best on the whole front beach of Budva. The food is great and the service is fantastic. Highly recommended. Unacceptable experience.. we went there with 10 more people to have just drinks and we were sitting there for whole evening and our bill was something over 100€. One of our friend left earlier and we wanted to split our bill and the young waiter billed him 31€ for three shots, one beer and one drink. Then we found out that it was ten euros more than he should pay for his drinks. He came back and told him that he took 10€ more, so he gave him back his money and left fully angry, that he did not make profit out of him 😡

Later on, we decided to pay the whole bill so we counted and pay by card normally. When we came to him to pay all of it I told him the price we should pay and he was said: “I do not care, just pay it!”

At the end of all of this when we were leaving we found out that we forgot to pay one part of the table so a friend came there with the last bill and he should pay 36€ and the waiter put to the terminal 46€ And acted like he did not notice, so he wanted to deceive us once again.

The drinks were good, we came there at the evening because we went there at the lunch there for one drink and we really liked the services and very willing waitress but the evening dissapointed us.

To give you an advice, please, before you go to pay just count everything and when you pay with the card, check the terminal...
