Unforgettable Dining Experience in the Heart of Budva – Konoba Portun If you're looking for an authentic, warm, and character-filled restaurant in Budva – don't miss Konoba Portun! From the moment we arrived, we felt the cozy, homely atmosphere, the caring personal service, and the love for food that shines through in every detail.
The dishes were nothing short of excellent – fresh, carefully prepared, and full of flavors that blend traditional Montenegrin cooking with Mediterranean touches. We especially loved the fish and pasta dishes, made from top-quality ingredients.
But the real highlight was the service: our waiter – the owner's 11-year-old son – greeted us with a big smile and charming hospitality. It was truly heartwarming to see a family so invested in their restaurant, and this young boy was both kind and impressively professional.
The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet and pleasant spot, just far enough from the tourist buzz to create a peaceful and magical dining experience. Prices are very fair for the quality, and the overall experience was exceptional.
Highly recommended – one of the best restaurants we've visited...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend decided to eat at this restaurant, after reading very positive reviews. Starting with the positives, the surroundings were cosy and lovely, also the appetizers that were served, when we were waiting for our meals were really good, that’s where the upsides end. We ordered one macaroni with tuna and one with salmon, both of us didn’t even manage to finish our meals. They were incredibly bland and the tuna tasted like the fish ate trash, back when it was still alive, also the pasta was horribly overcooked and mushy. The waiter asked why we didn’t finish our food, so we said it wasn’t very good, he offered something other to drink or to eat as an apology, but we thanked and asked for the check. The unpleasant surprises didn’t end there, we were also charged for the appetizers that we didn’t order. Forgot to also mention that we paid almost twice as much for the same meals here than we did in other restaurants...
Read moreYou know a place is really authentic when the owner/chef is not a great fan of being featured in the Lonely Planet (which it nonetheless is, and rightly so!) A fabtastic little gem in the historic town of Budva, serving the best seafood we have tasted during our ten day stay in Montenegro! Only a couple of tables and the chef is really dedicated to those dining at his place. You need to be lucky to be able to eat here but I promise you will not regret it. Go with the chef's recommendations and you will have a great meal. One of the very few places in Old Town where you actually get value for money; we even got a portion of Bruschetta on the house. Painting of Tito inside for added authenticity. Also possible to dine in the little alleyway where people will pass by staring at your food jealously. No surprise by now, but highly...
