Abysmal even by Montenegrin standards. Lured by a decently looking menu we entered the premises despite the relatively hefty prices. Following the recommendations we first ordered the goat cheese with figs for 15 euros. A sum that would get you a decent offer of cheese at any continental European restaurant turned in to six measly slices of dry and relatively bland goat cheese with three shriveled lifeless apricots. Asked why the figs had been replaced with apricots we were told that the receipe (!!!) had been changed from last year. This was but a sinister premonition of what was to follow. The risotto with prawns turned out to be half cooked rice mixed with what can only be described as dense powdered soup, raw onions and garlic and some shrimps, probably frozen. The linguine with seafood were a few lonely noodles miserably drowning in a thick tomato sauce containing a large quantity of mussels which were probably only recently liberated from some ugly jar. To add insult to injury these „dishes“ cost 20 and 22 Euros respectively. While almost anywhere within a few hundred kilometers from here this money would get you something resembling a gourmet meal, here you are served in a way that would stir protest even at an average university canteen -...

Our worst dinner experience during our stay in Budva.

We came to this place based on the recommendations we read in Google, Tripadvisor, Foodie blogs, etc.

We arrived to the restaurant and sat inside, we ordered the homemade cheese with olive paste and bread for starters - it was okay.

For mains, we ordered the Prawn Risotto and the Grilled Squid and Tomato and Basil Risotto. We waited a long time for the mains but we were kind of expecting it since it takes some time to prepare a good risotto.

However, once the food arrived, the Prawn Risotto was overcooked and the T&B Risotto was cold. We told the waiter that this last risotto was cold and they simply heated it up in the microwave - the result? Another overcooked risotto of course - the pictures speak for themselves.

The risotto is supposed to be creamy and “al dente”, these ones were dry and chewy.

We could not finish our meals and ordered the bill, the waiter didn’t even bother to ask why we didn’t finish our meals, he just took the card payment and simply left - the service is terrible.

I really don’t get the hype and good ratings for this place - the food is terrible and the service matches the food level. We were super...

When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a server who didn’t seem interested in serving us. When we got seated and figured what we wanted to eat (lamb chops and squid), the server told us a bit angrily about the restaurants policy: that they have a mandatory service tip of 10% but because of “happy” hour with a -10% discount we got that on top. We just accepted and enjoyed the food (which was good), but a bit blown away by the cold and unfriendly service, that they take a mandatory tip for… we did get free bread and tapanade, but it doesn’t feel like it justifies the bad service… when we needed to pay, No one came to our table for 15-20 min after cleaning our table, so we went inside ourselves to ask to pay. The bill ended up being even more than the bill we received on the table because of the “mandatory tip” which apparently applies to each at the table… which just seems like a scam and complete nonsense… We won’t return and won’t recommend this place to anyone. Rather go to Konoba Galeb for a personal and friendly service experience with also great food at...

Based on Google reviews, we’d pinned this spot for a meal in Old Town. We dined here on our first day for lunch, and we really enjoyed our experience. We sat at a table outside on one of the skinny cobblestone paths. The food wasn’t the best we had during our 10 days on the Dalmatian Coast, but it was very good. Appetizers were simple but fresh and tasty—local cheese plate and smoked trout. I ordered the octopus with tomato sauce for my main, and the sauce was the star; octopus was more chewy than I like, which is often a problem anywhere in the world. My husband had a seafood pasta that was excellent. Local white wines were crisp and bright—perfect for an alfresco meal in a beautiful corner of the world. Our service was also excellent, though we were the only guests there at 2 p.m. on a Monday. Would I go back? Yes.
