Ordered spaghetti tomato pasta and had to send it back because they put cheese all around the rim of the plate and in the sauce (don't like cheese it makes me feel sick) without that being in the description on the menu.
Had to wait another 20 mins to get a fresh one and my partner had finished hers by then (by finished I mean ate half and left it - see why below). Told it's cooked in milk and that's an understatement - it's all you can taste and not nice at all!
She ordered the Arrabiata and it said it was vegetarian on the menu but it smelt and tasted like cheese. Either that or it's bathed in milk in the cooking process liek mine was. She ate about half and left it.
They bring out a starter (which we didn't order) and that's added to your bill. Looking at the other reviews this is something they to everyone which is baffling. Just ask if people want it before you bring it out and charge people!
They also add 50 cents on your drinks from what you see on the menu vs what's on the bill. Might not seem much, but it just feels like they squeeze every bit they can from you without telling you and it adds up if they do this to everyone. Comes across sneaky and scammy.
Server was nice at first but that changed at the end when he didn't bother to ask why all our food was still there and we were paying the bill or why we were leaving so quickly.
The guy playing music while you eat is so loud. Good singer, seemed nice, but we literally couldn't hear eachother talk it was so loud.
This is one of the more expensive places and there are soon many better places than here. Save your money and go elsewhere, I promise it's...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant based on its high rating (4.7 out of 5) and numerous positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience turned out to be quite disappointing.
From the very beginning, the service left much to be desired: the waiter was careless, broke a glass right next to our table, and shards of glass hit my friend in the back, which was very unpleasant.
Next, there were issues with our order. We ordered a fish soup, but a few minutes later we were informed it was unavailable and were offered a tomato soup instead. We agreed, but in the final bill, the price remained as if we had received the fish soup, even though the tomato soup costs less. Moreover, my friend didn’t receive her replacement soup at all — her order was simply forgotten.
We were also served a small complimentary appetizer of bread with sun-dried tomatoes and olives, but no one warned us that it would be added to the bill. The charge depended on the number of people at the table, and it was impossible to refuse it. When we asked the waiter, he said it was the manager’s decision and that he had no authority to change it.
Additionally, we were brought soup without spoons and had to ask for them separately.
Finally, the overall condition of the restaurant also left a negative impression — we noticed large water stains on the ceiling, which gave an impression of neglect.
All in all, our visit fell far short of expectations. Hopefully, the restaurant will take this feedback...
Read moreAs someone who loves modern renovations in historical areas, I was truly impressed by Pepe Nero. Finding the place was a bit of an adventure, as you have to pass through a corridor off the main street and discover a cosy corner with a couple of restaurants. The signage could be clearer, but once you find it, you're in for a treat.
We visited for breakfast and ordered the Montenegro breakfast for myself and the Avocado Benedict for my wife, along with a coffee latte and lemonade. The atmosphere was perfect—tucked away from the busy crowds. It felt like a peaceful retreat where you could really enjoy your meal.
What stood out the most to me as an architect was the stunning modern renovation inside the old town. The design was sleek, contemporary, and blended seamlessly with the surrounding historic environment. It's not something you often see in such areas, and I couldn’t help but admire the space.
The food was good overall. My breakfast was decent, but my wife absolutely loved her Avocado Benedict. One tip, though: if you’re getting the lemonade, make sure to ask for syrup to sweeten it.
I've dined at many high-rated places, and while this restaurant was good, the overall experience—especially the modern yet cosy setting—makes it worth recommending. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food and...
