Ordered fish and it was inedible (super dry, flavourless, like a piece of rubber, seemed frozen which is amazing considering the ocean is less than 500m away); politely let them know that I wouldn’t pay for it as I didn’t/couldn’t eat any of it. Then was treated poorly (manager tried to charge me half price haha, bartering I suppose Is the Moroccan way!), but he did scratch it from the bill in the end. The service other than this was okay, nice waiters. Maybe this place moonlights as a drinking hole, but except for one bloke at the bar we were the only people in there at 730 on a Friday night which probably says something. Overall don’t eat here. Read moreI ate at Restaurant Number One some years ago and I was not impressed with the quality of the food, mediocre service and outdated decor of this restaurant.
I suspect that it attracts a regular 'Happy Hour" bar crowd for tapas with alcoholic drinks, but as a restaurant, it is not known to be particularly good.
Nevertheless, the location is good, directly across from the Hotel Rembrandt in downtown Tangier.

Despite one of our friends not wanting to drink alcohol, the manager insisted that we all needed to order a drink. When our friend politely declined, the manager asked us to leave. This made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's important for establishments to respect their customers' choices and preferences.
