Tendy's — Restaurant in arrondissement de Tanger-Medina طنجة المدينة

While exploring the downtown area in Tangier, I was amazed to find a modern and clean fast-food restaurant that was so well done that it could have been in Manhattan, Paris or Berlin.

I walked inside to look at the neatly-packaged ready-to-eat club sandwiches and noted that it had one of my favorites, saumon, for just 19 dirhams.

There are other sandwiches on delicious fresh bread or multi-grain rolls for under 28 dirhams, crispy salads, pâtés, mini-pizzas, desserts, chocolate chip cookies, freshly-squeezed juices, smoothies, milkshakes, coffees and an assortment of English and herbal teas. The place is also air-conditioned. Try it once and you will return for more good food at reasonable prices.

My only complaint is that the background music level was too loud during my first visit. However, on a subsequent visit in early January 2018, the sound level was not annoying.

I was also happy to see that Tendy's has take-away or eat-in portions of macaroni and cheese made with real Cheddar, and all the sandwiches, including my favorite--saumon fumé--were all neatly packaged in sealed plastic and refrigerated carefully at 6 Celsius.

At Tendy’s you can also get a slice of homemade pizza that will be heated up when you purchase it. The business is obviously well run by the owners and all the locations serve the same delicious foods.

I prefer the largest Tendy's at Ibn Batouta Mall on Avenue Youssef Ibn Tachfine which has heating inside in the winter, but its large outside seating area has views of a green park across the road. Additionally there are a number of cushioned leather seats and sofas whch give it a Starbucks look. The young friendly waiters usually speak some English and are efficient and bring your food to your table on a tray.

My other favorite Tendy's on Tangier is at the Socco Alto mall, just down from the Walmart-sized Carrefour supermarket.

The Socco Alto location is the newest in Tangier. The five locations used to serve a generous hot delicious soup of the day with warm bread. But unfortunately after Ramadan 2021 Tendy's stopped selling these soups. My favorite soups were the cream of chicken with mushrooms and fish soup, but all were delicious and filling.

Tendy's various locations attract a young student and business clientele. There is strong WiFi, and credit and debit cards...

Alors déjà le service est très lent, il ne faut pas être pressé. Ensuite avec mon mari nous avons prit 2 formules petit déjeuner à 38dirhams + 10dirhams un jus de fruit. Donc à nous 2 on devait payer 106dirhams (+10dirhams de nutella). Au moment de payer on ne fait pas attention puis on comptant on se rend compte qu’il nous a arnaqué et c’est pour ça qu’on a pas eu le ticket en plus ! Donc on retourne lui expliquer au début il ne voulait rien savoir on a dû insister pour qu’il assume avoir compté chaque aliment individuellement alors qu’on lui a montré en photo le menu choisi de chacun. À la fin de notre petit dej pas terrible pour le prix en plus, nous avons dû encore insisté pour nous faire rembourser notre dû et en plus ils se prennent pour ce qu’ils ne sont pas (très arrogants).
