We went to this place seeing the reviews and honestly it didn’t depict it right. First of all the service at this restaurant is rude and not welcoming at all. Felt like we were prisoners they had to feed. Their body language, attitude and service was just horrible. They didn’t come to get your order , you have to constantly get up and call them. They also don’t come to check up to ask if everything’s good. We ordered a soup asking if there was any meat in that soup and the Asian lady came to tell us that the pink meat piece we were showing her was starch. She was really acting like we’ve never seen meat before trying to convince us that it was ‘starch’.she also told us there is absolutely no meat in that soup when we were seeing many meat pieces in it. We called the Moroccan guy and he said it was lamb. We told him we don’t want it since it has lamb meat. He just got upset and took the soup back. They didn’t charge us for the soup however this review is mainly based off of horrible service for average food.the average food would have been acceptable if their service was better. They need to have more employees to address all clients. They ended up giving us one dish before all the other ones that took around 15-20 min to come. The order of food should be appetizer and then the main rather they give you one of the mains and then 15 min later another main and then the appetizer at the end.for the price and extra 10% service that they include in the bill they really need to improve their service. They don’t even give any service therefore shouldn’t even be...
Read moreThis is an exceptional Chinese restaurant. I am from Kolkata, the birth place of Indo-Chinese (a cuisine very popular in India) and currently live in London. But I would say this is one of the most memorable Chinese meals that I have ever had; I have not yet had such good Sichuan dishes in London yet. Every single dish we tried was fantastic to say the least. We were in Chefchaoune on a very rainy day towards the end of March and the town was completely lack of tourists. There was no one in the restaurant either. We did not have any expectation while walking in but the foods turned out to be so finger-licking good that there was no going back to click photos once I tasted the dishes. Fish in hot chili oil was absolutely delicious; has to be one of the best Chinese dishes I have ever had! We also had the sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice; the fried rice was very close to Indo-Chinese style with finely cooked rice (very separable grains as of made with Basmati rice) and wonderfully spiced.
The place might have nice views on a clear day but we could not enjoy it because of heavy rains. The indoor atmosphere is nothing special but the food more than compensates every other thing deficient. This is truly a hidden gem (who would have thought that one of the best Chinese meals ever would be in Chefchaoune, Morocco after having visited so many places worldwide) and provides a very welcome change to try something different than Moroccan cuisine in Morocco.
Keep up the...
Read moreI had two experiences at your restaurant. The first one, i had ordered a chicken fried rice and it was amazing. I even complimented the chef by saying it was by far the best chicken fried rice I have ever tasted. Before ending my journey, I wanted to taste it again. Unfortunately, when I had ordered two portions of it, there were no vegetables, just chunks of eggs and rice. When I complained to the waiter, he changed it and put chunks of bell pepper on them. I have never seen bell pepper in fried rice. There were atleast 4 chunks of chicken in them as well.
Later on, I ordered spicy chicken noodles, you could count the amount of noodles there were and instead of being mixed with a Chinese sauce, it was an Italian sauce. The sauce was made out of tomatoes. And even in an Italian restaurant, they don’t put that much of tomato sauce as much as they did. There were pieces of tomato and huge chunks of bell pepper instead of it being finely sliced up.
It was by far the worst Chinese restaurant experience that I’ve ever had. Knowing that I’m a big Chinese...
