Restaurant Sayeda Alhurra is a beautiful and authentic feeling family-owned restaurant with delicious food and a wonderful energy. Eating here feels like you are sitting in the living room at a family friend’s house, watching as dinner is prepared and served.

We had the harira soup, tagra kefta, and the tacos. Plus 2 mint teas. Everything was flavorful, hot and delicious. It was also a very filling meal! The service was perfect… very genuine, sweet and friendly. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, too… so many pretty design details throughout. Grateful we had such a special dinner experience for our last night in Chefchaouen.

Exceptional food and wonderful personalised service!!! The tangine chicken lemon and tangine beef with almond & egg were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tasty, and we mopped up every ounce of the gravy with the yummy Moroccan bread that literally soaked up the gravy of each dish and made every bite an epicurean experience so lovely, that we ordered another round of the beef again! We loved the beef kofka too - moreish morsels of meaty goodness! We forgot to tell our gracious host to hold the sugar, but the mint tea was nicely warming on a cool balmy late November evening. Upon seeing so many amazing 5 star reviews I was quite excited for this restaurant, however, it turned out to be an absolutely disappointing experience.

We arrived before 9pm and quickly decided what we want to order. All our picks were sold out, so we just went with a Tagra Kefta and a Shrimp Kefta and two juices. We received the juices at 10pm, after more than an hour of waiting. One of the juices was not what we ordered and it took them another 40 minutes to bring the correct one.

When the food arrived after an hour and half, we were surprised by the tiny portions. The taste was okay, but at this point it didn’t really matter.
