We had dinner at Aozora last week and it was amazing! We were 3 people and ordered 3 different set menus and Takoyaki and shared everything. The Takoyaki and the Iwashi Kabayaki Don were our collective favourites along with the macha desert. The location is great, just outside the medina in a fairly quiet side street. And while it's small, it is very cozy and makes you feel like you're in Japan, not Morocco. Ali, the owner, used to live in Japan for 20 years and only moved back to Morocco with his family recently. So you can be sure that this place is as authentic as it gets! So, if you are a bit tired of Moroccan food, this is an amazing place for an international alternative! I can't wait to come...

They say, “If you find a good, authentic restaurant, make sure to try everything on the menu.” That’s exactly what happened with us — we ended up going back to this place throughout our stay (three times) just to try as many dishes as possible. Truly excellent food, served by genuinely kind people. The barley tea and matcha ice cream were also amazing. This place exceeded our expectations.

I want to thank the owner Ali -who lived in Japan for 19 years- for bringing such an authentic Japanese food experience to Chefchaouen. I’ve lived in both Casablanca, Tangier, and in Stavanger, Norway for many years, and never had Japanese food this good.

Hope to be back...

We were recommended this quaint Japanese restaurant in the heart of Chefchaouen by our local tour guide. We ordered chicken Katsu curry with miso soup and sushi salmon. The miso soup tasted refreshing and was perfect for the cold weather. The chicken katsu curry was cooked to perfection with crispiness in every bite. The salmon sushi was very fresh, juicy and just melted in the mouth. They also served matcha ice cream with flan, which was unlike any other dessert we had. We could taste the matcha in every bite which was balanced with sweetness and was a delight to the tastebud. Would definitely recommend this place 1000/10 on your next visit to...
