This restaurant is a must-visit in Chefchaouen. Not far from the centre at all, it's an easy walk. The owner is a very intelligent man, who speaks a fantastic level of English having spent his youth travelling round the world. Now as he gets older, he focuses on growing his own food at his multiple farms and obtaining fresh fish from the coast. This means he knows about his food, where it comes from, how it should be cooked and what it should be eaten with. Downstairs he keeps tinctures, oils and syrups, all homemade. Upstairs, his fish restaurant. My meal of red mullet was by far the best I had in my entire 2 weeks in Morocco. Thanks to his interest in traditional herbs and medicines, my meal was served to me alongside differing oils and molasses to cleanse my pallet and leave me feeling refreshed on my journey home. The owner took time out of his evening to explain to his guests the origins of their meals, and given the fact it's a fish restaurant , recommended food to their particular liking if the guest was unsure. I'd like to note - I wasn't even asked to leave a review. No pushiness, no nothing , and the price was more than fair. Hence, this fantastic review! I've never been to a restaurant where the owner takes such a deep interest in where his food comes from and it shines through on the final plate. If you want seafood, you need to come here. A vastly different experience to any of the restaurants directly next to the main square. You will be treated as a friend, not just a...

Dont get intimidated by the difficult walk way entrance which doesnt look like a restaurant. Most Chefchaouen restaurants are like this. The seats and terrace is niceee.
The owner and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Best of all is the food. The portion is big. The material is fresh. The taste is delicious. And the price is quite reasonable. Our favourite is the avocado shrimp salad, fish soup, and grilled squid. We visit this restaurant 7 times (in our 4 days here).
This is a refreshing choice of food for us as we have been eating meat tangine in Marrakech. Also the taste is not very strong with herb and spices as the chef want to keep the seafood taste. It maybe a bit light on the seasoning so you can add the salt yourself.
The dont charge service charge so it s nice to give 5-10% tip if you want. The beautiful thing about Morocco is that they are happy with even nothing and still service you with their heart. No...
Read moreReccomended as the best restaurant for seafood in chefchaouen by our riad, my partner and I visited here for lunch.
Zakaria, the waitor and front of house, was incredibly friendly, kind and made the experience fantastic. Because he made us feel so welcome and the food was so good, we went back 6 hours later for dinner too!
The menu has a wide range of choices from 35dh main meals to 400dh/kg fancy meals. We ordered langoustines and fried sole, which was phenomenal.
For dinner we shared the anchovy tagine which may have been the cheapest seafood main on the menu but it was incredibly tasty. We had fish soup for starter and a caramel cream for dessert which was homemade and very traditional.
We highly reccomend this restaurant to any tourists. I am a seafood fan and although my partner is not, we both loved it. A special mention to Zakaria who made the experience unforgettable. He is comfortable speaking multiple languages, is generous and makes you...
