Let me start by saying that I earnestly try NOT to give a bad review of almost anything.
I try to see that people are doing their best and look at the best side of things and I don't naturally wish to condemn.
However, to sum up our experience at this restaurant, if only we had a video to show the disappointment on our face when the man uncovered the top of the tajine that we had just ordered then it would have said it all.
We paid more than double the price - as we found out - for exactly one drumstick surrounded by some sauce. There was nothing else. No vegetables, no potatoes. Nothing. All the other tajine dishes in other places we had have multiple ingredients.
It was so disappointing we could not stop talking about it for the next few days.
Was it good? Well...yeah...it was OK. Was it great and tasty? No.
Mind you, the restaurant has third floor which allows you to look around at the city. But you can see at that level that many places have rooftops, so it's not unique.
We paid for that dish 90 Dirham. This, as we found out, is horribly overpriced.
We found throughout our stay nothing comparable in size and price. It was the single most disappointing dining experience we had.
Note : The pictures I very seen on the Internet, I have never come across. They are large, colorful and chock full of various ingredients.
Now, as I said, I don't like to be negative, so the decor is nice.
If the 3 drinks we had, two of them were 1 cup (128 g/ 4.5 oz), and were OK at best. We had : 1- Cucumber lemon which was ok. 2- Lemon mint was quite bitter. 3- Iced lemon tea which we...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Mom's Touch in Fez, and I must say, it was a truly unforgettable experience! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile by the owner, who made me feel like I was part of the family.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with traditional Moroccan decor and comfortable seating. But what really impressed me was the food - oh, the food! I ordered the pastilla, which was absolutely divine. The flavors were rich and complex, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. And the presentation was stunning, with intricate garnishes and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
But the real highlight of my meal was the two tagines I tried - the pigeon tagine and the camel tagine. I know it sounds unusual, but trust me, they were both incredibly delicious! The pigeon tagine was tender and flavorful, with a rich, gamey flavor that was perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the dates and the tanginess of the olives. And the camel tagine was surprisingly tender and flavorful as well, with a unique, slightly sweet flavor that was absolutely delightful.
I ended my meal with a delicious cup of mint tea, which was the perfect way to cap off a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Mom's Touch to anyone looking for a authentic and delicious Moroccan meal in Fez. It truly felt like a taste of home, and I can't...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Mom's Touch, a popular restaurant located in the bustling city of Fes, Morocco. Upon arrival, I noticed that the restaurant was quite crowded, with many different nationalities including Italians, Spaniards, Koreans and French, which was a good sign that people from different walks of life enjoyed the food.
The menu offered a variety of options, ranging from classic Moroccan dishes to international dishes. My family and I decided to try Tangier's signature meat which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The meat was tender and juicy, and the seasonings were just right.
While we were waiting for our main course, we ordered drinks to quench our thirst and I must say the avocado cocktail was a pleasant surprise. The texture was smooth and creamy and the avocado taste was just right. However, I was not impressed with the banana smoothie as the banana flavor was weak and it didn't really stand out.
Overall, my experience with Mom's Touch has been very positive. The atmosphere was lively and the food delicious. The service was efficient and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you happen to be in Fes, Morocco and you are looking for good food, I would definitely recommend trying...
