Visited this restaurant to break our fast at lunchtime. At the time we arrived after 1pm on Thursday it was empty but apparently we had just missed 2 sets of guests. So don't be discouraged by a seemingly unvisited location. It's very popular and offered a much needed alternative to the food at our hotel. The chicken katsu curry and red thai veg curry were very tasty and filling and had the requisite amount of peppery heat - the manager Adam had asked what level of spice we prefer. The Riz Contanais with seafood was especially delicious. The starters were also stylishly presented and tasted great. So definitely earned the title D-Delice! Service was fantastic from Adam and he was a very warm and cherry host. The only reason for the service markdown is that the payment machine did not accept any of 3 credit cards, whether Visa or Mastercard. Apparently, a Revolut card worked for other customers. So it is the service provider that the restaurant uses that must be the source of the issue. So beware, and have enough local cash to pay the bill unless you want to walk to the nearest ATM and be charged MAD 50 for the privilege of...
Read moreDon’t look at the rating (or look closely) - all empty 5star-Reviews. We did last night, and it was a complete disaster.
Restaurant was empty. Waiter had no clue (said was his first day, therefore a bonus*), when finally ready for taking our order he told us there is no sushi because the sushi chef is missing (3/4 of the menu is sushi).
The food: Thai Curry was a mini portion and not good at all, no flavor, not salted, just hot and the rice some kind of risotto. Tuna was so overcooked we were not even sure if it was tuna. The soup was anything but Tom Ka Gay. In retrospective, the two dishes that were forgotten were probably the best.
Fortunately, there are so many great restaurants in Marrakech. So we left as fast as we could and headed to one of those.
It’s sad, because the place is cute and there is always a place for a good Thai and/or Sushi Restaurant in any city. But the owner should start with the quality of his kitchen instead of tricking people into the restaurant with fake 5*reviews and...
Read moreWe read the online reviews and they seemed positive so we went for dinner. We hadn’t booked but they were gracious enough to find us a table.
The service seemed a bit chaotic, this could have been because our waiter was new to the job so some leeway was given. We were offered a degree of spiciness for our food which was a nice touch. The food itself was really very good, however the portions were not very big. When we said we wanted to order some more food we were told that they were very busy and the chef was nervous. So we left without ordering more food and still hungry.
Another thing I have to mention was the Music. I find Bossa Nova Jazz to be so tedious its proliferation in restaurants has reached saturation point. I did mention this to the staff. But that is my personal taste and opinion.
Overall we had some good food, we would have preferred more but everything just felt...
