It was our last day in Morocco and our last meal was at Marrakesh's La Palette. We read the reviews and had very high expectations. We had an early wake up the next morning and as such made reservations for the first time slot. Our first impressions were that we had made the right decision. The decor was contemporary with a warm appeal. We were the first to arrive and were greeted warmly. Even the feline representative said hello (although he became a bit of a nuisance when our mains arrived).

We started with warm baguette slices and the octopus app. The octopus was hands down the high light of the night. Delicate in every way with the only issue being my wife... she didn't seem to want to share.

Our mains were the lamb shank and the the whole monk fish. Both were well presented but both were over seasoned and put a damper on what could have been a perfect night.

As the night went on we noticed that there was no one else in the restaurant?? It was almost 7:30pm and still not a sole.

In the end, we had mixed feelings about our meal. One would think that being the only table, extra care should have been taken. However the service was excellent as was the atmosphere. With so many options in Marrakesh, I hope La Palette can up its game for...

Not sure where to start. But the one thing that stood out for us more than anything was the smoking within the premises. A group next to us starting puffing away without regard for anyone and when we asked the owner to move us to a non-smoking area he seemed to be making fun of us in French with the 'perpetrators' rather than addressing the issue. 10 minutes later they found us another table that was basically 2 meters away from that group. Who continued smoking unimpeded. We should have left by this point, but we had ordered drinks so decided to soldier on. The food was well below par, the octopus was so overcooked it had become mushy. The salmon was the opposite, completely raw on the inside. When I pointed this out I was told "this was a French kitchen and as such this is how they do it", if this is how they do it then I take it back but having had similar dishes in the past, for me it was unacceptable. The owner did ask to take it back and cooked it more but given the manner in which he dealt with things, we just wanted to get out of there ASAP. This is not a place I would want to...

We found this pearl by chance thru the great reviews and wanting a more modern cuisine for the night. This place got the spot on all accounts. The food was fresh, prepared perfectly and the presentation was on the spot. The interior design of the restaurant was also super cool with all kind of pop art decor and eclectic design. The bathroom in itself was worth the visit. The service was very friendly, professional and efficient. The meal came with an extra tea and cordial at the end and the owner was so kind to help us flag down a taxi. Definitely worth to get out of your way and see the "other, modern" Marrakesh! Love it and we hope we can come back and visit again. Love the team at La Palette and...

Nice atmosphere and ambiance, lovely host and excellent server. However the food was not top notch as I was expected from #3 on TripAdvisor I order the tempura shrimp salad, the sauce was bland and the shrimps under seasoned and too much lettuce which was not tasting good. Then for main dish I ordered the lamb shank on mash potato with gravy on the side which was so so.
