If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Marrakesh, look no further than La Pergola Restaurant. From the moment you step foot in this culinary oasis, you're transported to a world of luxury and indulgence.

Located in the heart of Marrakesh, La Pergola boasts a stunning rooftop with panoramic views of Morocco that will leave you breathless. But it's not just the picturesque setting that makes this restaurant a must-visit – it's the impeccable service and mouthwatering cuisine that truly sets it apart.

Upon arrival, my party and I were warmly welcomed by Samir, the gracious restaurant manager, whose hospitality knew no bounds. Thanks to his thoughtful gesture, we were treated to a VIP experience in a private rooftop area, where we could savor our meal in serenity while soaking in the mesmerizing views.

Speaking of the meal, every bite was a culinary revelation. From the first taste to the last, each dish was a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted to tantalize the taste buds. The menu boasts a delectable array of options, from traditional Moroccan delicacies to innovative international fare, ensuring there's something to please every palate.

But it's not just about the food – La Pergola is a feast for the senses in every way. The ambiance is enchanting, with soft jazz melodies floating through the air, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening of romance and relaxation. And let's not forget about the cocktails – expertly mixed and served with flair, they're the perfect complement to an already extraordinary dining experience.

La Pergola Restaurant is more than just a place to eat – it's a destination unto itself. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, I wholeheartedly recommend adding this gem to your itinerary. Trust me, you won't be...

We made a reservation late at night, and one of the main reasons we chose this place was because the booking info mentioned there would be live jazz music. Upon arrival, we were asked if we were going to have drinks, to which we said yes. They seated us at a high table. A bit later, we found out the jazz concert was actually happening downstairs, which they told us was a different bar — not ideal, but fine, we could hear it anyways.

Halfway through our drinks, a waiter came over and told us we had to move because the tables were supposedly for dining only. This felt quite unfair, especially since we had clearly said we were only here for drinks, and most of the other tables around us were also just having drinks, not food.

The whole situation seemed to happen because another couple, initially seated at a less desirable table, asked to move to a better one near us when it became available. Just at the same time, when they were swapping, another couple was seated at that very same table by a different waiter. Instead of asking them to move, the staff decided it was easier to ask us to move, mid-drink, with the excuse that our table was meant for dining — an excuse that didn’t hold up when looking around.

They moved us to the bar area, right next to the beer taps, where the staff were loudly chatting amongst themselves. The atmosphere there was far from relaxing and felt chaotic, not at all the experience we were hoping for.

That said, the rooftop itself is a nice space, and while prices are noticeably higher than other places in Marrakech, it’s expected for this type of venue. It’s just a shame that we weren’t able to enjoy our time properly due to the poor handling of...

As soon as we were seated, we were told we had to leave within 90 minutes. We asked for water immediately, and then no one came back for 30 minutes. When the waiter then asked for our order - no water. All through the mighty, we kept saying we should leave, but always convinced ourselves to stay, and then always regretted staying longer. Water didn't come for 45 minutes. Appetizers didn't come for 90 minutes. Food didn't come for 2 hours. We had a tapas selection that had dips, but never got bread. We needed more place settings and asked, but never got them. Mixed drinks just tasted like the mixer: the Berber lemonade is straight Sprite. Having live music was fun and it was very good. But it was also very very tight - two of our chairs were pushed all the way in and still pressed against our neighbors.

Even if you have a reservation, you have to wait in the staircase for 20 minutes to be seated. Be ready to be treated very poorly and for it to all be slow. The vibes - chef's kiss. But seriously, that's all. Food was just ok, very mediocre compared to even street side diners.

Hamburgers and hot dogs were unavailable, but then when we tried to order veggie burgers or chicken sandwiches, the waiter was annoyed and reminded us all "burgers" were unavailable. We had kids with us and three kids shared an order of plain chicken wings and mostly ate the carrots and celery for dinner.

We spoke to the manager twice when he asked how things were. Apparently the wifi was to blame for the late food, but didn't really apologize for any other part. It's very very popular with tourists. If you're hoping for real Moroccan food and hospitality, this will give all the worst...

Three of us (2 full-on carnivores and 1 vegan) ate here on a hot Friday night in August on the last day of our summer vacation. We ate on their very nice terrace, gently cooled by misting water sprays. The venue was selected by my 17 year old son as able to accommodate our diverse dietary preferences. On Google this has a 4.9 rating, from 15000 reviews. Which seems impressive. There was no discussion that we should sample such a prestigious restaurant. We were not disappointed. The terrace is a covered green place with relaxed seating accompanied by a background of pleasant t jazz music. This is Morocco for the elite, the haves rather than the have nots. Naturally plastic is accepted. Prices are commensurate with any cosmopolitan European city. Beer, cocktails, and burgers are served. And as the lone vegan I got falafels, which were server with a deliciously coriander spiced tomato salsa. I would say the service, or rather hospitality, was upto the 5 star standards I have encountered in my two week road trip around this country: whether that is in such a chic establishment as this, or in the most basic Berber guesthouse. So I conclude with a mention to our server: Abdel Hak. Thank you sir. And not just to you, but for all your fellow countrymen who looked after us so well on our summer vacation.

We visited this place twice. The food is fine and the place has a good atmosphere. Service not so good. They clearly basically like the place absolutely crammed full, but this comes at the cost of the customer. On our first visit, our party of four were given a high table in one of the corners of the establishment. A few minutes after ordering they then sat another couple at the high table next to us, which actually only had room for one. This meant one of them was basically sat elbow-to-elbow with us for the whole meal - not very comfortable at all! On our second visit, our server had some issue with their electronic ordering device and disappeared for ten minutes before the order was taken, which was frustrating. Our table was left uncleared for ages after the meal also and we gave up on ordering a dessert due to the time taken. Also, a final note, if they must insist on QR code menus, at least optimise the menu for a mobile phone screen! Zooming in and out of a Issuu document is a real pain and could have been easily solved with a decent online menu. Or why not just provide printed ones and save everyone the hassle... Overall, it is an atmospheric place with reasonably good food, but I would expect better service for the price paid.

I’m honestly so shocked to see this place reviewed so highly, I wonder if diners are getting it confused with Le Bistro Arabe which is the fine dining restaurant/ jazz bar downstairs. The sheer volume of recent reviews on this Google page tells you everything you need to know about La Pergola, no restaurant is organically getting 100’s of new reviews on a daily basis without incentive. I should have seen that as the first warning sign. The only reason I’ve given it 2 stars as opposed to 1 is that the wait staff didn’t quibble when we asked for 2/3 meals to be refunded which came out cold not once, but twice. I had the “Gourmet Tangia” which was so unbelievably dry, nothing stew like about it, had a bone chip in my first dish and it was patchy temperature as if it had been put in the microwave. My friend had the chargrilled squash which twice came not chargrilled and severely undercooked. Honestly an awful dining experience and the cocktails were also lacking any real flavour. The tables were cramped, the staff were very cocky making weird jokes to a group of 3 ladies. We were in and out within 45 minutes, I certainly wouldn’t dine here again.
