Food is top notch. Excellent cooking, presentation, and table service. Very skilled chef and waiters. Hosts also are excellent. However, the waiters will gossip about you and insult you in darija assuming you dont speak the language if you look like a foreigner. I was also not allowed to sit where i wanted even though there was only one other family seated in the dining room and during the entire stay, it was not busy. I wanted to sit side-by-side with my partner since there was plenty of space. The waiters seemed cold, unfriendly, and strict. It actually made me so nervous that i spilled my drink. The waiters were however very kind and patient when helping to clean up the mess i made.
I had already had a terrible day while traveling and my partner and i were stressed and hungry. We just needed a peaceful meal to help us calm down.
The waiter was also rather aggressive in urging me to order bottled water and drinks quickly when i hadn't had time to think yet. However the way he treated the french family that arrived after us was completely different, warm and friendly. The waiters also did not seem to gossip about the french customers.
Perhaps its only Americans or American/morrocan couples who are unwelcome.
My initial impression of marrakesh is that foreigners are disliked and unwelcome by many but tolerated strictly because of the money that one can get out of them. It's a coldhearted version of typically warm moroccan hospitality in other regions i visited and lived in.
If you want incredible warmth calm and friendliness, go to...
Read moreWe had a wondeful experience here, with excellent and interesting food, efficient and generous wait staff, and lovely decor and ambiance. We were looking for a nice place for a farewell dinner for our group of 20 people, and another restaurant cancelled on us at the last minute. We found Un Dejeuner through a google search and stopped by in person. The staff jumped right in to create a nice prix fixe menu for our guests, even though it was last minute. When we arrived they had arranged a private space for all of us, making us feel very welcome. They brought out a sampling of appetizers for the tables, and each item was a thing of beauty, both the presentation and the inventive flavors, while remaining very Moroccan. The main dishes followed suit in terms of creativity and tastiness, and it was all capped with lovely desserts, coffee and tea. We loved that they helped us solve a problem and did it with grace, managing to serve exceptional food. I'd definitely visit this restaurant again when I am in...
Read moreAnd as promised we are back we had to try more items on the menu got the beetroot with the onion pickle, husband got a chicken salad with peppers and tomatoes that was AMAZING. Then I tried the lamb that was bit too done but my fault I should have asked them for a rare rather then a pink one. Husband got the risotto and cuttlefish dish that I had the first time.
Beautifully cooked and very nicely presented. We loooooved it and I guess we are going to comeback to try more items on the menu.
Did I mentioned how nice the staff actually is?
Thank you guys 🙏 Once again we loved it 😃
OMG we are still sitting here and I felt I need to share how good the food in this place actually is, is a fusion between established dishes such as risotto al nero di seppia or roast chicken but with an Arabic twist AWESOME we are loving it. If the bill is also good they are going to see a...
